| BrokenJade06-09-07, 10:52 AM | Before anyone starts yelling "THERE ARE NO CYBERNETICS IN EBERRON", i was wondering if any one could say attach say a warforged arm or leg to a human or elf. I remember reading in the Inquisitve novel Night of Shadows, a gang member had an adimantium arm. My question is can it be done |
| Edymnion06-09-07, 10:58 AM | Lets see, for magical items there's the Arm of Nyr. But you're probably looking for the construct grafts from Faiths of Eberron (I think it was FoE). |
| tallric_kruush06-09-07, 10:59 AM | BrokenJade, the Renegade Mastermaker PrC from Magic of Eberron (p81) does exactly that. I'm sure it provided the inspiration for at least two such novel characters of which I'm aware. |
| Nived06-09-07, 11:08 AM | Edy and Tallric hit it on the head. There are magical grafts that well, graft parts of other creatures to your character. In Eberron they were introduced in Magic of Eberron with Elemental, Plant, and Undying grafts. Also in MoE we were given the Prestige Class Renegade Master Maker who slowly turns their body into a constuct mainly using Warforged parts. Later in Faiths of Eberron we were given the Construct Grafts which replaces body parts with warforged parts. So what's the difference between the two? RMM eventually turns you into a living constuct, the grafts do not, though they give you a number of the bonuses. Also free magic battlefist on the RMM. |
| BrokenJade06-09-07, 11:43 AM | thanks, that was answered a lot quicker than i had hoped |
| tallric_kruush06-09-07, 11:45 AM | thanks, that was answered a lot quicker than i had hoped ...and much more painlessly, as well, as it seemed you had prepared yourself for a flaming-troll attack.;) |
| Wolfen Fenrison06-09-07, 12:58 PM | Also for a more traditional style of cybernetics there is Golem tech from d20 Cyberscape, which is a supplement for d20 Future. Basically they are cybernetic enhancements and replacements that are made and powered by magic, I feel thats a natural fit for Eberron. |
| Rechan06-09-07, 04:11 PM | For those familiar with SHadowrun, I think taking the RMM is more like becoming a cyberzombie. That means, you get so much cybernetics that basically you're no longer human. |
| Kaodi06-09-07, 05:03 PM | Hmmm... A human cleric/renegade mastermasker, follower of the Becoming God. Probably not very common, hehehe... |
| Edymnion06-09-07, 05:14 PM | Hmmm... A human cleric/renegade mastermasker, follower of the Becoming God. Probably not very common, hehehe...Thats a good one, actually. It does say +1 lvl of exhisting spellcasting class, so that would be totally viable. Good job! |
| Bluebrush06-09-07, 08:06 PM | Also, there's the Half Golem template. If I remember correctly, it's in the MM2 and makes you go nuts. So maybe not the best choice for players. |
| AkumaDaimyo06-10-07, 02:55 AM | Insane PCs can be interesting if done with some responsibility. We had a Cleric of the Dragon Below PC. He was definitly insane and a trouble maker but he was nice to the other group members. He wasn't of evil alingment ethier. He was CN. |
| Cifer06-10-07, 06:04 AM | Hmmm... A human cleric/renegade mastermasker, follower of the Becoming God. Probably not very common, hehehe... Well, the Becoming God has some RMM followers. They're generally regarded as insane by both other followers and normal people... |
| Rechan06-10-07, 05:22 PM | Agreed, insane can be great if done well. Besides the obvious "Changeling with split personality", I think one area that hasn't been touched on would be a soldier with PTSD. Just start leveling him as barbarian. Certain things trigger his "episodes", which are reflected by his rage. |
