| Killer GM04-05-05, 10:43 PM | Okay, there are more than a few similarities between Sharn and Tokyo as portrayed in "Blade Runner". So...what if there was some sort of...special police unit. Unofficial, but...officially unofficial, if you catch my meaning. Tasked with hunting down the worst the world has to offer in human (and humanoid) monsters, armed with only some hand-me-down weapons and their own wits? It wouldn't be the kind of job you'ld walk away from...but you might get carried. So would the existance of such an orginization be publicly known? How would people react if it was? What about recuitment? Any other ideas? |

There's one thing that warforged CAN do that is strictly prohibited in every country where the treaty is observed (even liberal ones that start with A) and that is impersonate a human. "The Flesh forged" are created by an expensive process that can coat them with a artificial skin, magically shrink their bodies down, and give them moving parts. The process can even give them illusionary induced tactice feelings. The flesh forged were a pathetically poor experiment to create construct assassins when people or dopplegangers would always do a better job but many warforged want it done. They'll kill and steal for it. and plenty of Cannith know the process or can find someone who can do it. Its highly illegal and condemned by the house but some do it anyway. Out of pity, strapped cash, or god knows what other reason. Thus, in Sharn, theres orders to kill these warforged on sight Especially given the costs can be dramatically reduced by simply using human bodies. |

I can see a Voigt-Kampf test to discover whether one's mind is truly human or not, and blade runners fighting changelings and kalashtars. |

That rather ruins the feel though that man is afraid of their creations though. It simply becomes a case of genocide. |
| Sarlax04-06-05, 07:49 PM | I've been working on an idea somewhat like this. During the Last War, a secret House Vadalis project began to experiment with breeding superior soldiers. Various sub-projects came into being. Some were aimed only at making normal animals tougher, such as war-suitable magebred dogs. Other teams created unusual hybrids, such as horses equipped with powerful Scent abilities and deadly natural weapons for use in tracking. The most foul project was the blending of human and animal blood. The goal wasn't to blend human and animal physical traits; the shifters already met that criteria in the minds of the project leaders. Instead, House Vadalis sought to create humans with the instincts of predators and the growth rates of beasts. The resulting creatures appear fully human but suffer from sociopathy. Their specific behaviors result from their training and their base animal origin, but they are generally emotionless killers. House Vadalis originally designed them as unable to reproduce on their own, but a few of these bizarre soldiers have overcome that barrier; the House leaders who are even aware of the creatures and of the reproduction process suspect Ashbound involvement. |
