Does "mundane gear" include: Alchemical items Spell components Gems, jewelry Dragonshards Mounts Masterwork items Raw materials for creating masterwork items Raw materials for creating magic items, constructs, elemental bindings, etc. Thanks for your input.
Ricohard_Draconis 01-27-07, 09:18 PM	I don't think there was a conclusion but one of the other threads on this proposed that it meant the basic weapons, armor and equipement from the PHB, since its mostly what they have laying around. I agree with that but others weren't so sure. I wouldn't have it include gem stones or dragonshards but just cannith worked items, since they're then selling it off with the reduction mostly the houses profit and the cost of labor.

It was only started a few days ago and has been bumped several times so finding it should not be difficult. To summarize the common consensious seemed to be that "mundane gear" was anything from the equipment list in the PHB as long as the privilage was not over abused. Someone coming in for a couple months worth of trail rations and some new backpacks every several months won't attract any attnetion, as long as the person asking for it is on House business such as an expedition to Xen''Drik or the Mournland. Someone coming in for 30 ten foot polls every week might be suspicious. And the issue was also raised about wither or not Masterwork gear would be inclcuded. There was a little blurb about Cannith wanting it's people looking as good as possible but the issue was raised about how much amsterwork gear would be laying around and weither it could be considered "mundane"
Cifer 01-28-07, 03:22 PM	It was, however, pretty definite that no spell components would be included in it. Oh, and animals would be the domain of Vadalis, so probably none of those. I'm generally of the opinion that everything in the equipment section of the PHB, ECS and other relevant sourcebooks would be fair game as long as they're not really exotic - a bastard sword, despite being labeled an exotic weapon, isn't too outlandish, while you probably wouldn't get a chitine spear in Karrnath. Masterwork weapons, on the other hand side, seem quite possible to me since every magewright and his uncle can craft them. In general, it was estimated that the discount puts equipment-heavy Cannith characters (basically fighters, paladins and other heavy-armor+big weapon guys) about one level above their counterparts. This disappears around level 5 when most of the gold is paid for magic items. as long as the person asking for it is on House business such as an expedition to Xen''Drik or the Mournland Actually, that is not quite correct: The discount assumes that the person in question is not on any specific quest for the house (though he better be prepared to take some that come his way). If an actual quest arrives, Cannith is quite prepared to outfit all of its agents (the whole party) with everything they need for free, although the DM can of course calculate this into the wealth-guidelines of the party or take the stuff back as soon as the mission is concluded.
