Okay, here's my story as I've got the idea down. I am tying together all the various references that the campaign has built up, including that the warforged of the party has a huge destiny ahead of him and presenting this premise.

What I really need is thoughts on reaction because I think it's going to be quite amusing to see how this goes.

The one that shall come

In the dawning Days of Galifar, the mythic origin of the kingdom was formed with the aid of the mighty wizard Sterelm1. who supposedly formed the sword Caliburn2. from meteorite iron and presented it to Galifar the First with the proclamation that he would have a kingdom that would last for a thousand years.

According to the legendary history of the Realm of Galifar, Sterelm also created a second blade that would be known as the Kingsword for it would mark the return of King Galifar during the hour of greatest need for the Realms as a Knight of "The Strongest Metal."3.

The legend of Galifar continued on as a prosperous but otherwise rather unremarkable kingdom except for the fact that everyone came to idealize it. Each king was marked with recognition through the fact that the sword Caliburn was passed down to them. Remarkable properties were attributed to Caliburn and its wielding put many king's on the throne.4.

Sterelm made an appearence at the meeting that finally signalled the end of peace talks and the start of the Great War solely to weep and make various faces and noises. In truth, the Prophecy already indicated that war was a foregone conclusion and many in the Chamber were actively interested in speeding up the process of disintegration so the eventual 'recovery' period could begin. The destruction of the sword Caliburn was handled by one of their agents whom had it shattered during a crucial moment when King Bree might have used it to cement the war in his favor.5.

Amongst these plans was a somewhat 'poetry-ed' up version of the Draconic Prophecy that foretold the Return of Galifar during a time of unparralleled darkness and the fact that he would be known with the Kingsword hidden in the Silver Flame and by defeating a great evil. Sterelm believed that this titanic hero would be a being whom would not only unite the nations but pool their now advanced armies in preparation for the coming wars the Chamber envisioned them needing aid in..6.

That was when things went a tad south. Galifar was reincarnated as a great warrior and leader of men but Sterelm hadn't forseen WARFORGED. Furthermore, the destruction of Cyre was done so that the Myth of the Five Kingdoms was broken. Sterelm himself was also murdered by a Lord of Dust whom proceeded to take his place and use the almost mythic status of the wizard.

Nevertheless, Galifar in the warforged's body has continued on his glorious fight for righteousness and good. The Paladin of the Silver Flame also is about ready to discover that he is about to draw forth the Kingsword from its holy resting place in Thrane and save the country from Revolution. Just after finally beating the Lord of Blades (the dark king).

Where to go from here is the question.

Possible Plot thoughts

A. The idea that some people will definitely take the idea of a Warforged reincarnation of the King of Galifar will decidedly include some people who want to restart the war and of course warforged.

B. Sterelm's new Lord of Dust incarnation may be decidedly interested in fostering this belief for his own unholy purposes, stealing away the truth from the Chamber.

C. The Church of Thrane is in the uncomfortable position here of essentially having their holy center of the faith seemingly recognize SOMETHING magical happened with the warforged.

D. Many people will see this as a hoax, a sick joke, or an outright mockery of their ancient legend and will reat accordingly (perhaps forwarding false pretenders)

E. The Chamber is in the uncomfortable position of their own of now having to decide whether what was lain before should be supported or the project dropped. Since they're dragons, they may argue until the relevance of the matter is over by some centuries.

Annotations

1. Sterelm is in truth, the hyper machiavellian Gold Dragon leader of the Chamber in my campaign. The paranoia ridden ultra lawful good is primarily responsible for the transformation of the Silver Flame into a militant ultraconversative human centric theocracy, the creation of a nasty Section-1 style Intelligence agency the PCs work for, and works his best to kill Peter to save Paul according to his interpretations of the Dragon Prophecy.

2. Yes, it's another name for Excalibur but if I'm barely cloaking the legend, I might as well be honest about it.

3. Specifically, it's a delayed reaction Reincarnation spell cast by Sterelm that had the unexpected effect of reincarnating the ancient king through the Forges.

4. Caliburn itself was sword that had no real remarkable properties save for the fact it was +4, didn't wear, and also increased the wielder's charisma by 3. However, other swords that functioned only for paladins and so forth had their qualities attributed to the blade so that everyone assumed Caliburn was the greatest artifact of all time.

5. The Chamber largely used this to discredit the Bree's claim to the throne forever while they made similiar moves with the House of Cyre, Thrane, and Aundair...Karrnath really didn't need it.

6. Set up for Age of Wyrms.

So yeah...

Basically I was curious if this sounds completely stupid (be honest) and I should find a new origin destiny for party warforged. Or whether I should go fully with Arthurian myth and have him found a nation of warforged, work to become the leader of the nations
