| Jarlaxle_The_Rogue02-08-05, 09:39 PM | Alright, so yesterday I saw a thread about another great war in Eberron. It really inspired me and heres some plot I thought up, I want to get your input on it. DEVON, JUSTIN DO NOT READ THIS!!! I'll warn you- THIS IS VERY LONG -Breland blew up Cyre using an Edritch machine, trying to stop the fighting. -BBEG wants to modify the Eldritch machine to open a gate to Dal'Quor/Xoriat and open the window of opportunity for another invasion. -Cyran refugees find out that Breland blew up Cyre and rebel. -Lord of Blades makes a deal with the rebels and Aundair to divide Brelands resources between them- the starting of the War Forged Nation. -Karrnath declares war on Aundair for violating the treaty of thronehold (and simply for want of revenge, but this is not the public reason). -Thrane moves against Breland, wanting to rid itself of a future enemy (against the speaker of the flames wishes). -The fragment of house Cannith that wants to make their own nation strikes out into Darguun from Zilargo, wanting to seize the land and resources for their nation. They lead with an army of warforged. -The Lord of Blades removes his forces from Breland and heads for Darguun, meaning to add the House Cannith warforged to his own ranks. -House Cannith is forced to extricate itself from Darguun, as many of its warforged desert it. -Droaam takes the opportunity to attack teh Eldeen Reaches in a bid for land and resources. -The Tribes of the Shadow Marches begin to align for military action. -The tribes of Darguun attack Zilargo, hoping to chase out the members of house Cannith hiding there. -The Lord of Blades makes a deal with house Cannith: The Warforged will serve Canniths cause for as long as house Cannith can provide a steady stream of reinforcements. -Bolstered by Warforged and Zil reinforcements house Cannith overwhelms the Tribes of Darguun and takes Darguun for its own, renaming it Cannith. -In need of resources Karrnath launches an expedition into the Talenta plains. -The Talentan tribes and elves of Valenar attack Karrnath. -Naval fleets from Lhazaar lay siege to Aundair after making a deal with Kaius III, king of Karrnath. -The Dwarves of the Mror Holds deceive the Talenta/Valenar alliance and lead them into a Karrnathi ambush. -The Towers of Sharn mysteriously fall from the sky, nearly leveling the city. -BBEG steals the Edritch machine the Brelish used to blow up Cyre, transporting it to the Mournland. -The Warforged in Cannith turn on their creators, taking the creation forges and producing yet more warforged. -The Warforged attack Zilargo, and eventually the gnomes are forced to surrender. -The rebellion in Breland is suppressed. -The Daughters of Sora Kell make a deal with the aligned tribes of the Shadow Marches and attack the people of the Eldeen Reaches, seeking to expand their territory. -The people of the Eldeen Reaches are pushed up and into the Demon Wastes, where the people there force them out, seeing them as a distraction from their all important job. -The Eldeen refuges head to Aundair, where they are accepted. -The Valenar elves make a deal with Karrnath and turn on the Tribes of Talenta. The Talenta plains are soon occupied by Karrnath, Valenar and Mror troops. The Halflings are sent off to holding camps and Q'Barra is forced to join in alliance with Karrnath. -The Karrnath/Valenar/Mror/Q'barra/Lhazaar alliance name themselves the Liberators. -The Liberators attack thrane through the Mournland, though the main Karnathi army is tied up in Aundair. -Aundair and Thrane form an alliance to hold back the liberators onslaught, calling themselves the Galifarian alliance. They announce their intention to forge themselves a new Galifarian empire. -A small army from Thrane disguise themselves as Brelish soldiers and attack Valenar. The liberators respond by attack Breland, who in turn joins the Galifarian alliance. -Civil war breaks out between the tribes of the Shadow Marches. -The army of Droaam overruns the tribes of the Shadow Marches. -Having modified the Eldritch machine, BBEG uses it to open a gate to Xoriat/Dal'Quor. -Quori/Daelkyr invasion begins. Very quickly Thrane, the Talenta plains and much of Breland has fallen to their onslaught. -The Liberators and the Galifarian alliance band together for the time being to stand up the Quori/Daelkyr. -The new alliance desperately attackes the Quori/Daelkyr main army in an attempt to give the PCs enough time to shut down the Eldritch machine and close the gate to Dal'Quor/Xoriat. Obviously the PCs will have more to do then just that. They'll probably be working for the Brelish military and hear about all this going on around them. I'm looking for a way to incorperate the BBEG more, they'll probably have to try and stop him from gathering the pieces he needs to modify the Eldritch machine and stuff but I'm not entirely sure how I should give the BBEG more developement. Any plot holes? What do you think? |
| Jarlaxle_The_Rogue02-09-05, 10:43 PM | bump... Plz, I'd really like some comments. |
| Endless_Helix02-10-05, 09:58 AM | Hmmm.... The string of events seems about right, except Thrane wouldn't go against the Speaker of the Flame. It would be a lot like the Pope converting to Islam in terms of liklihood. The Speaker runs Thrane so she makes all the executive decisions, like going to war. Also Kaius III is, at least in my mind, an architect of peace, partially because he wants to oppose the Emerald Claw and Vol, but also because I think there is an under current of wanting utopia. He just has no morals that limit his actions to get it. But, I think he sees war as a thing to be avoided at all costs because it goes against his vision of Utopia. It's not the deaths that bother him, it's the idea. So I think that he would be trying to stop the war at all costs. Now I could see the queen of Aundair filling the space and attacking Karrnath with the Lhazaar Sea Princes... The plot is fairly sound otherwise. But if you change it in the ways I suggest, I would put the characters in Karrnath :D |
| drogg02-10-05, 10:26 AM | Couple nitpicks: -The Valenar hate negatively charged undead - so much so that I imagine that would sooner return to Aerenal than ally with a vampire. -The Eldeen Reaches just won their independence Aundair with the Treaty of Thronehold - I imagine they would think long and hard before trying to seek refuge there. Otherwise, looks good! |
| Jarlaxle_The_Rogue02-10-05, 06:08 PM | Thank you and thank you. I'll change it so that Aundair attacks Karrnath with the Lhazaar princes, rather then Karrnath attacking Aundair. I'm going to have to think on it a bit to come up with a solution for the Valenar one though, any ideas? |
| PoeticJustice02-11-05, 02:05 PM | The Valenar are turncoat mercenaries. If any of them wanted to sign up for MY alliance I'd turn 'em away at the gate. What's to keep them from turning again? On the other hand, the Valeas Tairn no longer ride for anyone but their ancestors. They'll go where the spirits of their fathers direct. If it's to aid the Liberators, then that's what they'll do. No other reasoning is necessary, because they are that hardcore. |
