| Moleculor06-18-04, 03:50 AM | Until such a time as we get a Web Enhancement with actual cities 'n such on them, can anyone make just a simple "Map With Borders" of the entire continent of Khorvaire from the maps displayed here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/eb/20040611a)? |

I can probably do what you want, though I'm a bit confused as to what you want? Can you explain it either further or differently? |
| AvonRekaes06-18-04, 11:03 AM | Okay, lets see if this (http://studentpages.scad.edu/~aturco20/IMAGES/Khorvair-Political-Map.gif) works. Yup. There you go. Unfortunately I can't address the Lightning Rail problem, cause I don't have the map and have yet to see it's route. |
| JohnnyONeal06-18-04, 11:05 AM | EDIT: Oh man, AvonRekaes beat me to it! But if that's just too detailed for you, you can always use my version (http://www.coveworld.net/eberron/sucky-political-map.jpg), which took 30 seconds to make in MS Paint. |
| AvonRekaes06-18-04, 11:16 AM | *looks at Jonny through teary eyes and his lip quivers* Mine took alot longer than that... Edit: Actually ours don't match up. Your Mournlands, Thrane, and Shadowmarches are bigger than mine. I'll assume you have the book, but I was just going off the maps in the map gallery, which didn't seem all that acurate. |
| drawback06-18-04, 11:28 AM | kudos to you both boyz! Maybe this thread could be used to post the "modified" maps of Eberron... Taking into consideration the "bugs"/unwritten features on the official maps in the book... |
| Taigis06-18-04, 11:47 AM | Re: Johnny's map, it is a good start. However, Thrane doesnt have access to Lake Galifar. Aundair blocks Thrane from it. Aundair and Breland should share some kind of border. The Mournlands dont go much further west than the mountains right next to its name. And the Arc of mountains south of the Eldeen reaches known as the Byeshk are part of Droaam, not the Shadow marches. Taigis |
| Moleculor06-18-04, 01:17 PM | AvonRekaes: Thank you thank you thank you. The lack of lightning rail was really expected. All I really wanted to see was where the borders were on a larger map, so I'd know -which- map to flip to to see the rail. Or where people were walking if they walked in X direction. (Though you did put in a few extra squiggles in Mror Holds' borders. :P ) JohnnyONeal: Uhm. Uhr. Well, it's smaller, so it fits on my screen better. :P But things like Darguun are... well... squooshed. |
| AvonRekaes06-18-04, 03:14 PM | Heh yeah. I was following the mountain peaks. Well, glad you like it. Maybe when I get my book (which should be arriving TODAY *watches UPS tracking like a hawk*) I'll add the lightening rail and trade routes. |
| Ch@pel06-18-04, 03:36 PM | Great job, both of you guys! I've got my new desktop for a month or two. I'd really like to see someone with some skills do a full- blown map, with all the lightning rail lines, Orien Trade routes, and small cities. As for the lightning rail lines that don't quite match up, well whoever makes the map first makes the call on that. |
| Taigis06-18-04, 03:43 PM | I just took AvonRekaes awesome map and incorporated the lightning rails and cities along it. However, I dont have ability to post it anywhere. If someone would be willing to post it, I can send it to them. Taigis |
| Moleculor06-18-04, 04:04 PM | I -think- I might be able to. Limited amount of bandwidth per month, and I'm using it for other things too. How big is it? |
| Taigis06-18-04, 04:14 PM | ACK! Its a 2.04 MB gif. Taigis |
| AvonRekaes06-18-04, 04:23 PM | ^_^;;; Didn't want to loose too much of the quality... Taigis, I'll host it. Check your pms for my email |
| Moleculor06-18-04, 04:37 PM | *spews mead all over the monitor* HAH! Yeah. Right. Hehehehe. (Though I do appreciate the non-loss of quality. Mmm. Maps.) |
| Taigis06-18-04, 04:42 PM | I just sent it AvonRekaes. Edit: I forgot to mention in the email that there is a gap in the line that runs around Lake Cyre. This is intentional as the area where the gap exists is not depicted on any map in the CSB. However, it is reasonable to assume that that the line connects, otherwise the Mror Holds are not attached to the rest of the system. Taigis |
| shemov06-18-04, 04:52 PM | my eberron is going to come in 5-6 days. you help me survive. thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but pls do not forget to keep us updated |

Remember, the rail lines are relatively un-expanded, and something may have happened to wipe out that portion of the line. |
| JohnnyONeal06-18-04, 05:02 PM | BTW, if it wasn't clear, my map was sort of a joke. I wasn't even looking at the region-specific maps when I made it. :) I was originally creating it to say, "someone make something like this, but good!" By the time I posted it, AvonRekaes already had! Taigis, I have some hosting space, if you're interested in having me post the map in the Gallery section of the Eberron journal. I might reduce the size a tiny bit, though, to keep my mysterious web hosting benefactor (the man hasn't charged me in four years!) from getting upset. |
| Taigis06-18-04, 05:08 PM | I sent it to AvonRekaes. It was built off of his map originally anyways. If AvonRekaes is willing, as his national borders are still present on it, I wouldn't have any problem with you posting it on your website. Re the lightning rail missing below Lake Cyre. Well, the maps in the ECSB show the lightning rail going through the heart of the Mournlands. Without disruption. If it were broken someplace because of the Mourning, I would suspect it would be in that area, not on the south side of Lake Cyre which is actually outside of the Mournlands. That being said. There could be other explanations beyond the mourning for the broken line, if it really is broken there. I just said it was reasonable to assume that it is actually connected, but since there was no evidence that it was, I wasn't going to put it on the map. Taigis |
| AvonRekaes06-18-04, 07:06 PM | Ah, sorry I didn't reply sooner. I kinda got held up because THE BOOK CAME! WOOOO! *ahem* I would be honored if Jonny used the map on his website. I have been impressed with the Eberron Journal ever since I saw it. |
| Taigis06-18-04, 07:10 PM | Johnny can you PM your address? I can send you the map. BTW your contact link on this page: http://www.coveworld.net/eberron/about.html doesnt seem to be working for me. Taigis Edit: I just got a failed delivery notification AvonRekeas, so the map won't be in your inbox. It says its too large. |
| kildaere00706-18-04, 07:30 PM | Being upset at the maps in the book (and before I knew about the dungeon Magazine one) I made my own maps for my campaign....it is just the one from the wizards site but labled like the chapter maps from the book (took me HOURS to do....but I love Eberron and I need a FREAKING MAP to run my game!...still can't believe it didn't come with one). I think WizOs WOULD have a problem if I posted it (as it is labled with their (non-open source) copyrighted names...but if they tell me it is ok then I will put it up. But only with approval first. |
