I notice a thread discussing Sincity in Sharn and thought I'd start one on Steamboy in Eberron. I fully understand that Eberron is not an Industrial Revolution parallel however many of the elements of Steamboy gripped me the same way Eberron did. I am a mechanical tech enthusiast at heart just to lay my bias on that table as it were. Many of the sequences were non-stop action sequences which traveled through the world not just remaining in one environment. The Steam-powered contraptions could easily have been powered by bound elementals instead of steam engines. The most amazing item by far, the mysterious Steam Ball, is precisely how I think an Eldrich Machine should be presented. It was rare, immensely powerful, and wanted by just about every organization that knew about it.

Yeah, Steamboy was pretty cool. Besides, the Steam family and their contraptions had more in common with artificers and magic than inventors and real technology : )
