Artificer's Armour Enhancement question [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-29-05, 07:54 PM if a 5th level Artificer wants to use Armour Enhancment Greater to imbue a shield with Control Undead (49,000GP power, level 7 spell), what does the Command Undead spell use as a DC?

Is it the minimum DC for a 7th level spell? DC = 17?

EDIT:

or... is the DC for the spell taken form the Armour Enhancement? ie 13+ artificer's int modifier?

06-29-05, 11:05 PM Actually, the minimum DC for a 7th level spell is 20. 10 (base) + 7 (spell level) + 3 (minimum 17 in requisite ability score, +3 modifier) = 20.

As for the answer to the question you asked... I don't know. Sorry :(

I think you should assume that the artificer creates an exact imitation of the shield ability he's imbuing, including the associated save DC, so use the same DC as if you had a shield permanently imbued with that property.
