| OneWinged4ngel06-15-06, 05:57 PM | Note: Spoilers for Eberron: Company of the Bloodied Roses campaign within (IE, my players can't read!) Aryth 11 is coming up in the campaign I'm running, and I'm going to set an adventure at "one of the most extravagant celebrations ever seen" as the Lord Mayor of Sharn claims (Sharn: CoT pg 32). Now then, I want to set the stage for this celebration, and really make it something special, before the villains of course decide to crash it. Spectacular magic, shows, visiting dignitaries and tourists from across all Khorvaire, a great variety of cuisine, and whatever else you can think of will be there! But I need help coming up with these things. The main celebration should mostly be confined to a single large tower, and be quite extravagant but open to everyone across Sharn. Thanks in advance for any help! -OneWinged4ngel. Hopefully the huge set piece will be useful for other DMs as well, even if it's not exactly this celebration. The ideas can be used. |

Expect grand illusions, sparkly lights, dancers, tumblers, acrobats, actors, and singers. Food will be provided by House Ghallanda with their unseen servants cleaning up and walking around with trays of drinks and hors d'oeurves. However, this event is a celebration of the Treaty of Thronehold and the nations that put aside their differences to usher in a new era of peace (at least, that's what the invitations say), not the dragonmarked houses. Therefore, there should be exhibitions from all of the Thronehold-recognized nations: Karnnathi folk dancing, a Talentan dino-joust, Aundarian mage duels, an exhibit of Thranish neo-Flamic art, etc. Note that only the recognized nations should have a chance to participate, which could lead to some hurt feelings. Perhaps Prince Oargev (sp?) uses this as an opportunity to criticize the nations for not doing enough to help the Cyran refugees or for not working to recreate Cyre itself. Maybe the Daughters of Sora Kell, in a scene right out of Sleeping Beauty, send monstrous agents to crash the party, claiming to be offended that they weren't invited or recognized. Is that their true motivation, though, or are they just using that as an excuse to further the prophecies of Sora Teraza? |
