Ashtakalan Coins? [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-24-05, 02:33 PM In the "Explorer's Handbook" on page 148 it states the Black Dragon Marauders of Hakatorvhak has "...dozens of Ashtakalan coins." My question is what are these? Are they just ancient coins from the feind city or are they something special? Anyone know, I can't find anything else about them in the book. Any help me please?

Probably of no real value as coin of the realm, but most likely extremely valuable in the hands of collectors, one of the major universities, or one of the adventuring societies.

Securing a cache of Ashtakalan coin might gain you entry into the Wayfarer's Society (or the Twelve if you're from a Dragonmarked house) if you play your card's right.

10-24-05, 04:47 PM When in doubt make them worth 1-1 in weight (1 gold coin = 1gp worth of gold)... but worth 50-500gp apiece to the right buyers.
