I’m very slender. I’m 5’8’’ tall. I weigh 120 pounds. I’m a gray elf. I have silver hair and violet eyes. It doesn’t really matter much how I dress but in any case I prefer clothing of black, blue and white. What is your earliest memory? The picture of my father restling a tiger with bare hands 17. How much schooling have you had? Lots. I was educated in elven history by my mother from a very early age and at the age of 50 I began to study the meaning of the arcana. At the age of 100 (age at which I was able to convince my mother to allow me to initiate myself in the towers of Arcanix as an apprentice to a wizard) I was accepted into the Arcanix towers. And withing 10 years learned all that I could learn there. During the time where I studied the arcane I decided I should train myself in the arts of martial combat as I wished to prove myself worthy in my father’s eyes. 18. Did you enjoy school? My father always presented a role for me, his strength and valor were unquestionable. My mother was also a great influence on me, her great intelligence was also something I valued a lot. 21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? There was never a family that big to begin with. My father never spoke about me to his family because they would shun him for having a son with an elf long ago distanced from Aerenal. 22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today. The desire to overpower the greatness of my parents. Become so powerful that they would be as jealous as proud. I decided to contract lycanthropy when I was strong enough, that way I would gain their power. This is another test of my grand power. Part 3: Past Influences 29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far? The outbreak of the war certainly made it difficult for me to get around, and soon I was reduced to having to hide a couple of miles in the underground (I discovered an underwater cave in lake Galifar) to continue my studies and keep my mother safe. I only value the creed that praises knowledge but don’t really agree with mortal servitude in the form of clerics, although their power commands my respect. 43. What are your political views? It’s an act of great responsibility. 45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? Acceptable: The individual being killed kills (or will kill) other creatures for reasons other than need, or must be killed in other for myself to survive. His bravery was almost a legend. 55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? My mentor for his years of dedication to magic (He’s human, that’s admirable; you don’t see that kind of stuff often). 56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people. I kinda noticed that he has awnsered power in all question, or something related to it. Should i do something about hes not so good behaviour? He wants to be a Wizard/Monk gray elf. LG? Lifes good, but not lawful good... |
| anarco_rata08-12-05, 09:48 AM | didn't read it all, too long! ^.^ but two things: 1) gray elves in eberron? there are no subraces in eberron. It's a really important point, but if you want em, ho well.. 2) He's caothic good, there's not a trace of lawfull behavior, from being an elf, beign the son of a barbarian, and a nomad. Also, why would a barbarian's son take the magic path? maybe a sorcerer instead of wizard would be more aproppiate. |
| 645789008-12-05, 10:06 AM | Ive limited the sub-races to the original place of them. I mean that all elf sub-races are in Aerenal... And i think ure right. Although i think he isnt even good. And fyi i didint read it completely either; my player sent it from email. It seems he is a power-maniac and he hates to die, he wants to be immortal, maybe a lich and he kinda is a werewolf, so he isnt good either, or lawful. He cannot be a monk, at least not a very accomplished one... I am worried though, at the thought of he changing again himself to be able to get monk levels aproprietly. Well he is in college clases at the moment, so i want to discuss this further before we speak. He was born in arcanix, his mother was an accomplished wizard and he just wanted to be a spell-caster but having no innate talent he studied. I did vote for Meepo. :D GO MEEPO!! |
| cmanos08-12-05, 12:00 PM | Didn't finish it but he is no where near lawful good. His highest desire is power...his highest regret is not having enough power. Ther eis nothing he wouldn't do given the right circumstance.....sounds more chaotic and tending towards evil.... I might place him on the cusp of Lawful and Neutral Evil. |
| ccerose08-12-05, 01:59 PM | If anything, congratulations on getting a player to answer 100 questions. The elf subtype has been addressed, but he can choose from Valenar, Aerenal, or Khorvaire. |
| 645789008-12-05, 02:33 PM | I kinda like that idea. Elves from aerenal have stat like Gray elves(bonus on int and dex, and penalty in str and con), elves from Valenar have stats as Wood elves(bonus on str and dex, and penalty in con and int) and elves from the rest of khorvaire have the normal traits(bonus on dex, penalty on con). All descendants of this elves with human are treated as equal half-elves, i mean in traits at least. |
| Medesha08-12-05, 04:31 PM | I can't judge alignment from backgrounds. Let him play for a bit and then evaluate his alignment based on his actions. |
| DarkDragoonX2208-15-05, 10:19 AM | The is another type of elf in Eberron as well. The Drow and they are on Xen'drik. but yes I agree with the others that he is not lawful good by his answers. and that you should evaluate his actions when he plays the character in your campaign. |
| nyysjan08-15-05, 10:24 AM | I kinda like that idea. All descendants of this elves with human are treated as equal half-elves, i mean in traits at least. that's just silly what kind of differences did you intend to between humans in Khorvaire and Seren Barbarians you can do as you like but personally i think that subraces have no place in Eberron. except elf elf and drow elf, and they have a bloody good reason to be so. |
| anarco_rata08-15-05, 10:55 AM | Ethnics are not races, just because a culture favores a vertain typo of individual or education doesn't mean its a wholle new race. Of course, elfs from Aerenal tend to be more intellligent and elf from valenar tend to be a lot more stronger, but that's just a direct impact of the culture wich raised them. Besides, evolution and change of a specie takes thounsands of years IN ANIMALS. Elves, with long life spans and beign intelligent beigns should not change (genetically) in a million years, that's why i think CULTURE and not SUBRACES are in place. Subraces are for min/maxers and min/maxing, a way to the dark side is... the dark side beign munchkinism |
| a_psh08-15-05, 02:22 PM | Okay, picking out a few... 2. Where and when were you born? Aundair, Arcanix, 841 YK 3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.) They were Sir. Macalister’Thorn of Firebright (Barbarian; protector of the Aerenal forests; CG, brave & strong, values wisdom & knowledge, humble, hates doubtfull people, values direct action rather than deliberation), and Kirlian Silverstrewn of Khine ... 16. What is your earliest memory? The picture of my father restling a tiger with bare hands I don't think that these three really make sense together, nor does #3 by itself: if his father was the "protector of the Aerenal forests," why was this character born in Aundair? (Where did the tiger come from, for that matter?) Basically, nothing about his father makes him an Aerenal elf. Everything about this character says "Khorvaire elf," but it seems that he wants grey elf stats. (This'll sound like a broken record, but this is a situation caused by having subraces.) (Also, I figure, if his parents are originally from Aerenal, they'll probably look down on their son for his fearful attitude towards death.) 31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? Conquering the title of Division General of Magical Artillery during the war once I graduated from Arcanix. Uh, sounds like this character is already high-level, and has powerful contacts and military rank. Is this the intent? 93. What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime? Break the limits of power to ascend to godhood. While this a potential (though megamaniacal) goal in other settings, Eberron doesn't work this way. Gods are all-powerful, instructible, distant... They're not something you can aspire to be. Imagine someone saying "I want to become so awesome that I turn into God!!!" in the modern day. Basically, that's the effect. |

They're not something you can aspire to be. Imagine someone saying "I want to become so awesome that I turn into God!!!" in the modern day. Basically, that's the effect. It's rumored than the creator of the Korranberg library made it with the intent to replace Aureon as god of knowledge, maybe it is just a urban legend, but the idea to make a god is not totally unheard of in Eberron |
