The thread about coinage got me thinking... Most kingdoms have items that are symbols of authority - Crowns, Scepters, symbols of conquest (like the stone-tablet-thingie that's under the chair that the Prince of Wales sits on when he's invested with the office), etc...

Did the Kingdom of Gallifar have any such items?

If so, what were they and became of them during or in the aftermath of the Last War?

It's a pretty minor question in the grand scheme of the campaign, but it might be something to build adventures around ("The Quest for the Lost Crown of Galifar" or "Raiders of the Lost Scepter"), or just to add verisimilitude to the setting (i.e. "Actually," the wizard said, "The crown that the Lord High Mucky-Muck is wearing is a replica of the original that was lost when Lord Flatus sacked the capital in the second decade of the war." - "Wow, that's great" replied the barbarian "What do you think it'll be worth once we can pry the remains of the King's head out of it?").

That would be awesome. Master Cow, if you would bless us with some fluff regarding the above, it would make for many happy players and DMs alike. Or maybe sneak it into the web enhancements listed in the other thread?

I agree that it would be neat to see actual physical items passed down from the times of Galifar or Jarot, but I would like to make note (if either anyone doesn't yet have the ECSB... I know N'wah doesn't yet...) that quite a bit of pride is taken in being the descendant of those ancient kings of Galifar. A lot of the rulers of today who are descendants (or who are at least claiming to be) still take the names, much like the royal families today and yesteryear in Europe did. We see many ir'Wynarn etc rulers of current day nations.

I guess the point of that was that something is noted as being passed down in royal families.

An excellent point, WoS, and yes, there certainly were and are such things. I really need to get some work done over the next few days, but I'll see if I can't address this soon, or in a web enhancement.

As a side note, the Empire of Dhakaan also had such things; reclaiming the relics of the empire is how the Kech Volaar (page 154) hope to establish their power.
