I was looking into buying the Eberron Campaign book, but wanted to know aliilt more about it first.
1. How fun is the whole concept of Eberron?
2. How fun are the flying ships?
3. Tell me what you like best about it.

Thank you

Everything.

Eberron is such a great setting is because everything meshes so well together. Everything works off itself, and interracts with everything else in interesting ways. I think once you've really had a chance to digest the setting and absorb it, you'll understand what I mean.

Eberron is great for those that have never DMed before. Its a fresh world for you to manipulate and no library of novels behind you dictating your every move (Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, etc.). The world has so many ideas that are new and interesting, I personally love it as a player. However, from a DM's perspective, I will stick to my Dragonlance. I don't like the world when it comes to something to "control." The world is to broad and open, and I need some stronger guidlines. Of course, that has to do with my upbringing on Dragonlance and settings similar to that.

I love the breaking of stereotypes of the races, especially gnomes. and the Airships currently play a minor role in the setting, but in my game there is going to be some competition between Orien and Lyrandar for control of travel, which will involve better airships, and faster Lightning Rails.
