| Dæmon10-30-04, 05:27 AM | How does Sharn dispose of human remains? I would think cremation would be the best methoud considering the cities construction. Any other ideas? |
| smrtgmp10-30-04, 07:36 AM | Toss em over the side? |
| Setherial10-30-04, 08:34 AM | I figur both methods have their downsides. If you burn bodies in a city that expands upwards and you are not on the highest level all the above lying levels have to deal with the smoke unless you have chimnays for that. Tossing them over the side has obvoius downsides :) though it would bring to live the idea why the poor live lowest and the rich on the highest levels :)) LOL I'd say turn them into undead who walk away from the city, dig a whole for themselves and bury themselves in it. Then rest forever :) (just kidding) |
| EvilDrPuma10-30-04, 11:36 AM | How do you think House Ghallanda keeps the pub grub stocked? |
| Maupertus10-30-04, 11:54 AM | I always thought they just gave them to House Orien and that they (for a very steep price) disposed of them in a far away place. *Cough* Mournland *Cough* |
| nyysjan10-30-04, 12:04 PM | aren't there cewers and cellars and stuff bellow ground just stuff the stiffs down there rats and goblins and things will eat them |
| Tamako of the Empty Hand10-30-04, 06:56 PM | Depends. If you kill them illegally, toss 'em over the side. Odds are good, especially if you use a bludgeoning weapon, that no one will be able to tell that he was murdered (suspect all you want, they can't prove he was pushed!) If they die naturally, maybe they're cremated and use to run the smelters. Setherial makes a good point, but since Sharn is known for its forges and smelters, they probably already have a lot of chimneys. |
| stembolt10-30-04, 07:41 PM | First off to quote Keith Baker: * Followers of the Sovereign Host generally bury their dead, either interring them in the earth or in crypts; the dead are believed to be under the protection of Kol Korran. Properly, the first night after death, a corpse should be attended by a priest or friend, to protect the soul from the Keeper during its passage; if no-one is available, a weapon of some sort should be left on the body, even if it's just ceremonial. You may say "Protect it on its passage to Dolurrh? What's the point?" But remember that a common belief is that Dolurrh is a waystation, and if nothing else, it is forgetfulness and death. The Keeper is where you'll get your eternal torments. * The kalashtar and followers of the Silver Host typically cremate the dead. Once your soul has joined the Silver Flame, there is no need for the body. So the answer is if you cannot burry, you build crypts. |

Odds are good, especially if you use a bludgeoning weapon, that no one will be able to tell that he was murdered (suspect all you want, they can't prove he was pushed!) That reminds me of the campaign I'm running. the PC's were investigating a murder that looked like a jumper. Really, the victim got a keeper's (khyber's) fang through the roof of the mouth while helpless, and then got tossed over the side. The perfect crime, except for some insane search and Knowledge(religion) checks |
| Setherial10-31-04, 09:22 AM | I love the idea of crypts, especially to burry people in high places (read people with money). There's nothing like a good crypt adventure :) |
