Hiya,

I am sure this has been asked before but couldn't find the answer.

If you wanted to bring down an airship using magic then what would be the options available.

Damage is one.

What about disrupting the elemental bindings?

Cheers, Chris.

Dispel, disjunction, and shatter come to mind.

Dispel Magic, Great Dispel Magic, Disjunction...
Airships are, after all, still just glorified magical items. Anything that would disable a magical sword will pretty much also stop an airship.

That's actually one of the first action scenes in the City of Towers novel.

Target the crew or captain.

Disintegrate part of the ring maybe? Heck, if you used disintegrate on the supports for the ring, it would burn the ship in half as it fell and that would be pretty sweet (sorry I am a pyro :mage: ).

I loaned my books to a friend so Im not 100% sure if it would work but it sounds solid enough to me.

Arcane-powered cannons firing big iron grapples.

Thanks for all the info ...

If any of my players read this they will be too scared to board an airship in the near future :)

Cheers, Chris.

You would have to get very close but a warp wood spell would do the trick. Especially when cast on one of the bindings that supports the elemental ring. Do it just right, and the elemental will damn near rip the ship in two as it breaks loose. The rest, as they say, is just dice rolling. Lots and lots of dice...... :plotting:
