Lets try this again.

AGE OF HEROES

Time: It's 988 Y.K. and what will become known as the Last War is in full swing. King Boranel is tired of the fighting and is trying to think of ways to sue for peace. However, Thrane, Droaam, and Aundaire are threatening Breland. Breland makes an uneasy alliance with Karrnath as King Kiaus III also wants to sue for peace.

Place: The start of the Campaign takes place in the sleepy town of Bethesda, a small city south and east of Cragwar.

The Action: The campaign will have heavy martial arts action: something like a cross between Errol Flynn's The Adventures of Robin Hood, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the Star Wars saga, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I've been told that one should write what he knows instead of something he doesn't. I'm applying this principle to my campaigns, as a martial artist (Blue Belt in Kempo Karate), I know martial arts a lot. Along with a good background in science for Fantasy Gaming.

For instance, my Eberron is orbiting it's star at 1 A.U. It's star is a Type G2V with a Luminosity of 1.01. So it's a little brighter in the day, but not really noticeable. If an Earth Man gets to Eberron, he'd notice a sharper shadow, but that's it, Khyber's Core is more ferrous, so it generates a slightly stronger magnetic field than Earth, so the Radiation from the Sun is the same ammount.

So the campaign is going to be Pulp Wuxia, if you will. Note: I read a lot of the Conan the Barbarian Stories, so don't be surprised if the Hyborian Age creeps into Khorvaire.

The PCs: I expect that some of the PCs will be made from the four martial artist classes in the game: Fighter, Soulknife, Monk, and Psychic Warrior. The Soulknife and Monk will be altered to represent a more martial artist direction.

That being said, you can only choose core classes, psionic classes, or the Artificer for this game. I won't allow anything else, except the elementalist from Occult Lore. I don't have the books to support alternative base classes (the Warlock and Shadowmind are examples).

Magic: Yes, if you are going to play a sorcerer, wizard, artificer, cleric, paladin, rager, or druid (UGH! Talk about an overpowered class, sheesh!) I will require you to buy d20 Advanced Magic (http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=3156), which has recently been marked down from $29.99 to $23.99. This means that I'll be getting my perfect bound or hardbound copy soon! :)

* As much as I want to use another system [Rolemaster], D&D seems to be really popular lately. Plus, my favorite class is very hard to adapt to Rolemaster (Soulknife) without telling everyone that they are a fighter with a power sword/energy sword/lightsaber/beam saber/brilliant energy weapon.

(Lightsabers/mind blades are based on numerous sources. So, Lucas Film can't claim exclusivity).

I suggest that you take a look at all the Eberron related galleries of Art on the Wizards of the Coast website.

Aside from that, these paintings may be helpful. I must warn you though, Art is Art, and so the nude form may be depicted. If you have a problem with that, you don't have to look at some of these paintings. Some of these paintings depict female Kalashtar (and are very Pre-Raphaelite).

http://www.clydecaldwell.com/large_images/alrelean.html (Some of Clyde Caldwell's works can still represent Eberron. This is another scene in the Eldeen Marches)

http://www.clydecaldwell.com/large_images/gryphon_hill.html (King Kiaus III is rescuing a young maiden).

If you want to find out what soulknives look like, watch any Star Wars movie. :)

Okay... let's try this again. What is the point of these posts besides cluttering up the forum? This is not a play by post forum, yet your posts routinely seem to be advertising for players. This is a place to offer suggestions, or ask for help/clarification... these posts seem to do neither. Instead it simply seems like you are using these forums as a personal notebook for your campaign. I mean no disrespect, but I am curious as to why you are posting this material here, as it does not seem that you are asking for a critique, and the material seems highly useless to anyone other than yourself.

Uh... How is this actually be of any importance in your campaign?

It's very important. Shadows are cast like those on Earth. If I decided it was a Blue-White star instead of a yellow one, the Shadows would be sharper and the planet would be placed a little further.

1 A.U. is a golden number.

It's more accessible here. When I put an add in the Searching for Players forums, they can immediately jump here, and see what everyone else is discussing. If they are curious about Eberron, it's free advertising.

:)

But, if you don't want to see this, I can take a hint. I'll move it somewhere else.

No need. Delete the thread entirely.

Allow me to rephrase my question:how will the fact that Eberron sun is such - and - such star and not some other generic star influence your campaign plot, player characters, magic, NPCs or politics?
