All Right,
My group has completed the printed modules for Eberron, they have ran the gamut and come out on top. The problem is that I no longer have these wonderful published modules and must go back to creating the adventures nigh from scratch.

So My idea is that the Creation Pattern, Xulo, takes over a newborn Warforged (from Merrix D'Cannith's Forge), and kill Merrix D'Cannith. The reason for this is simple, he is mad cause the last time he was complete he was taken apart Agian. Once out of Cannith Tower he hears of the Lord of Blades, perhaps even making contact with a "recruiter."

What has me stuck is that I don't know exactly how to run the Lord of Blades and his allies, nor do I know what kind of things Xulo and the Lord of Blades would send at my party. I do have a goal in mind for Xulo, he wants to recover an ancient ship, an airship unlike any other locked away by the Druids long ago during the wars with the Daelkyr. The ship is a heavily armed (magically), dreadnought used by the good forces during the Daelkyr wars to great effect. I am thinking about sending the group on a "Race" type adventure agianst a group of Lord of Blades, a group of the Blood of Vol, and a group sent by the Lords of Dust. (gee there are a lot of Lords in Eberron).

How could I go about doing that, and how do I set up dungeons built by druids. (never done one built by that class).

Thanks for any advice I can garner...

Mark

The idea looks really good and i hope i can help.

The lord of blades is safest in the Mournlands thanks to the ability to heal while others can't. if there is a race i would suggest that it travels across the Mournalnd so that the warforged can gain some sort of lead while others fall behind being caustious or going around.

The Lord of Blades is a cruel leader who pushes his followers hard to achieve their goals. They work tirelessly and he takes advantage of that by pushing them as much as he can. I imagine them being very stoic and almost dour as they fight to save their people, although they have a passion that shines through in battle as they fight to the death.

A dungeon built, and maintained by druids should not have to many mechanical traps but lots of animals and plants that can hinder the progress of adventures. if your characters are restricted to land travel they to just send them through a desnse jungle on the way to a small temple. although the temple is trapped in some way the journey to it should be a major hassle that would impead most but not the druids as much.

How to portray the Lord of Blades?

Use Dr. Doom, as he was Keith Baker's main inspiration in concocting the LoBster.

But I wouldn't kill Merrix off-screen like this, he's too good a character. Maybe Merrix and Xulo form a partnership, with Xulo tutoring Merrix in his experiments, and they eventually need the resources of the LoB.

I've often thought of Merrix as a twisted Xavier and the LoBster as very close to Magneto. Merrix and the LoB would have a strange, love/hate relationship full of respect and fear.
