Everyone has them, and there's a lot of good campaign ideas wandering around the boards. I thought It'd be nice to have a bunch of them in one place, so I'm starting this thread.

One of my ideas I've been toying with is the long term goals of Mordain the Fleshweaver; he's an excoriate from house Phairlan, and outcast from the twelve. Perhaps he's at last beginning to make his move against his former house, trying to get revenge; maybe he's trying to find more ancient secrets of the Daelkyr; maybe he's trying to form an alliance with Vol, to strike against two of the most sacred traditions of Elvenkind.

Regardless, some day when the party is in the region of droaam, not too far (not too near either, assuming the party has the sense it was born with), bizarre monsters set upon the party, outnumbering them drastically, and drag them before the Fleshweaver...

that's something I may use in my campaign that's just reving up. What else do people have?

How about this one, a cereal killer, who is actually a nobleman from one of the more powerful houses, Lyrandar maybe, who is methodically killing members of his own house, either to eliminate potential competitors all wanting the seat of dominance within the house, or wishes to silence some members who know about his experiments with living humans. Or any one of a hundred other ideas you could have for him to be doing this. This is good for the group because maybe you have a player who is a member of a house, then the player may become a target. Or maybe the pc knows too much. But this will give the players cause to look over their shoulders, and a mystery to solve. When I did this with my group I made the killer very, Death, (black hood and a scythe) because it is classic and inspires fear in them, no matter how minute that fear is. Also it helps if he is either a wizard or, being rich, has a few good potions handy. the effects of a blur spell over the image of death only heightens the players personal doubts about themselves, plus if this guy can fly it would make for quick getaway's, I don’t even want to go into how useful the false image and mirror self spells are for this guy.
Good Luck.

All the sudden dead bodies begin to appear in Sharn. But they just are dead bodies they are dead bodies of local criminal organization members. Party is called in to establish who the killer might be. they figure out theres at least two of them. Criminal syndicate leaders begin to show up. the party gets stuck with finding and eliminating the murderers. but the party stumbles upon the duos real identities and agrees with thier methods. What do they do?

(boondock saints for all those who have seen the movie)

Hey, leave my Cocoa Puffs alone.... :D There was an old text based computer game rife with puns (Nord and Bert, Infocom) which had a Cereal killer in it... that was a great game.

Something else I posted in the Children of Winter thread a few days back:

The party is captured by a sect of Children of Winter. Rather than kill the party, they release them in one of the darkest parts of the Reaches, and hunt them. If the party can survive the wilderness and the hunters for a preset amount of time (call it a week), they're not only free to go- they're honorary members of the circle, being seen as "the Strong" who deserve to survive. Honorary membership isn't voluntary though- the party is magically marked with the sect's symbol, and this can have strange effects and implications for the party...

One of the Governments is using Cyre as a dumping ground for political inconvenients, criminals, traitors. Essentially they dump these inviduals within Cyre as a passive agressive death sentence.

The PC's are disposed of someplace in Cyre, they have to fight their way across Cyre and return, to exact revenge, or to restart their lives.

This would help to create bonding within the group as they have a similar purpose, to survive and escape...perhaps even revenge!
