Hmmm... I was just wandering your opinion on the idea I have for a campaign involving the Quori which also has some of my ideas on how to deal with quori, elves, and warforged.

Background

After the giants of Xen'drik destroyed the planar gate, the plagues and death which overtook them were in fact the remaining Quori left behind which were now trapped here in a state of limbo between Dal Quor and Eberron. In this state, the quori still had a great deal of power on Eberron, but that power could only be fully effective in a creature's dreams and they could only partially physically manifest. So they were physically weaker, but strong enough to cause many problems for giants and the quori's ability to physically manifest was fading over time. While the Giants were dealing with the Quori remnants the ancient elven slaves took this as their advantage to take on their old slave masters. The Quori couldn't hurt the elves as badly as the giants since they didn't dream, so the elves were largely unconcerned with the Quori.

However, the remaining quorri on Eberron struck a deal with the elves. They would help weaken the giants so the elves could defeat them, but the elves would have to help the Quori find a way back into Eberron. This forced the giants to develop the warforged to protect them from the Quori and elves. The elves took out the warforged, and the Quori took on the giants. Then the giants desperately tried to finish what they started and eliminate the quori completely, but the dragons feared it would tear eberron apart completely and so they intervened. After the giants were finished and the dragons go home, the quori want the elves to hold up their end of the bargain by helping them re-establish their ability to physically come into Eberron. However, the elves, now totally immune to the quorri as they fade more and more from eberron, go back on there word and let the quorri slip back completely into Dal Quor. Now, this of course pisses the quorri off to no end, so they endeavor to do it themselves and seek revenge on the elves.

Fast forward to present day. The quori use the Inspired and the Kalashtar to exist on Eberron. Over the centuries, they've finally found a way to physically manifest on Eberron and take their revenge on elves. However, their over-exposure to the egos of their hosts and the constant battle of will which had to be exerted to control the bodies of these humans, docile and willing though they may have been, the fact that they simultaneously existed in two places, and an unknown factor took its toll and have driven many of them insane. The quori which never had a host pass through the new gate fine, but the ones that had lived through a host develop a dangerous and destructive multiple personality syndrome which also changes the quori into more powerful and destructive beings. The normal quori begin a war on the elves in vengeance, but the sick quori kill everything in sight, quori or otherwise. The strange origin's of the illness, coupled with the unique mental and metaphysical aspects of quori, allow the illness to spread as if it were a physical disease or infection from quorri to quorri. Eventually this illness becomes a threat to all Eberron and Dal Quor. This forces the normal quori to strike up and unholy alliance of sorts with elves and the other races of Eberron to stop the mentally defective quori threat.

Little does anyone realize, however, that this illness is in fact the last ditch effort of the Giants to exact their own revenge on the Quori, elves, dragons, and the rest of Eberron. Before their destruction, they released an arcane virus which eventually infected all living beings. Forseeing the means of the Quori returning and finding poetic justice in the thought of them destroying themselves as well as the Giants' other enemies, this virus was created to alter the mental composition of the infected beings so that if ever controled by a Quori mentality, the Quori would become unstable if it ever tried seperate from its host to cross over physically into Eberron. The secrets of this virus lay deep in the heart of the crumbling ruin of the Giant Kingdom of Xen'drik. This is where the players come in. They must battle ancient warforged guardians, infected Quori, and the hostile environment of Xen'drik in order to recover a lost relic with the information of stopping the spread of the disease, but that's not all. They must then decide how to deal with the Quori afterwards. Though allies for now, it is unsure whether they will backstab them and continue to wage their war for dominance on Eberron. So they must also try to find a means of sending the Quori back, shoudl they go back on their word. If this priority ever leaked to the normal quori, then the PCs may find themselves fighting 4 front war against the quori, the infected quori, the remnants of the Giant Kingdom, and the very land of Xen'drik.
