Ello everyone, i've got another question. So without further delay here it is....
Is there a Lightning Rail on the east side of Khovarie?
(yes or no will do, thanks)
Oh and if this has already been adressed sorry, how many lightning rails are there?

Yes there is, but it is cut off from the west side by the Mournland so you can't get back and forth. Airships and seaships are the easiest ways to get back and forth now.

As for how many Rails well, there are as many as you need for your game. I know that sounds all flippant, but if you need it to be the old west with one train a week or so then they are fairly rare. The default (I think Keith said) is that there is one a day in most major cities so I would say that the Rail yards have been pretty busy cranking out new engines in the last couple centuries.

So much for yes and no answers. ;)

lol so much indeed.
Anyway, thanks dog.
I didn't think they could make anymore what with Cannith fighting amongst itself and many powerful atificers dead from the last war in all. I was thinking maybe 1 or 2 max. Wern't the Lightning rails built during the founding of Gailfar way back when.

Yes, you can get from East to West on the Lightning Rail.
No, it is not cut in half by the Mournlands. One now unused (burned out) rail goes through there, but there is another going around the North of the Mournlands through Korth and Fairhaven, across the Scion's Sound near Thronehold.

There are certainly more than one or two. Perhaps one or two for each major city making runs back and forth between metropoli and capitals and such.So in Eastern Khorvare there would be... lets see... 7-14 actual engines racing along the conductor stones. Wait, no. Five to Ten assuming that only a large city, metropolis or capital would have the resources to warrant a full station that can actually maintain and/or create an engine.

Hmmm... the rail that leads to Krona Peak in the Mror holds might only have one or two going back and forth. that would help to cement that area as being rather frontiersy what with a lack of the transporation abilities seen in Western Khorvaire.

Western Khorvaire probably has seven to fourteen rails racing about and probably closer to 14 since the industrial metropolis of Sharn most likely has resources to spare.

No can do. Check the verry bottom of page 181 and the top of page 182. The bridge there is gone.

That bridge is broken now and nothing goes across it anymore. I may not have my book, but I still have my great big map!

Also I seem to recall somewhere in the Ask Keith thread that Rail travel is cut off from East to West and House... damn my memory... like Ian Holm from Fifth Element, so bad with names. the Mark of Storm ones. Lyrandar! Anyway, they and their air and sea ships are taking up the slack.

That's House Lyrandar (my personal favorite); it is made of half-elves.

Edymnion, where do you get your info from, in says clearly in the book under transportation that western Khovarie is cut off from Karnath...The bridge is destroyed and all rail lines in the mournland are destroyed.
Stone dog, thanks again. I still can't see more than maybe 4-6 Lightning rails, it takes alot to make one and thier arn't many competent mages who can handle a tall order like making more lightning rails
but thanks for the input.

Anywho, you can just take the rail as close to the bridge as possible, hoof it down to the water, take a boat across, hoof it to the next station, and get back on. Shouldn't add more than a day or two to the trip.

Ok, assuming you meant to cross where the bridge once was, back to page 182:

A lightning rail line crosses the Karrn River to connect Rekkenmark with Korth. In addition, various trails, paths, and trade roads lead out of the city into the interior of the nation. The high, sheer cliffs that boarder Scion's Sound make access to the waterway almost impossible, so Rekkenmark has no ports or water traffic to speak of. A Lyrandar airship mooring tower rises above the city, thought it only gets occasional use, since most airships head directly to Korth upon crossing Karrnath's boarders from the west or north.

Mad ranks in jump. (j/k... or am I?)

Or cast fly or somesuch.

Or get a house Orien person to zip you across... I don't have acess to my books though, so I don't know how much this would cost or what mark you need.
