Hello all,

:detect: Can anyone recommend any Eberron novel(s) that feature a changeling character(s) or organization(s) prominently? I don't have a preference for good guys  or bad guys .

Thanks

The Mark of Death series has a changeling character in the employ of Vol but I won't say more only that she was well written as far as he rmotivations were concerned. The other is the Heirs of Ash series I believe its called and is on the 2nd book so far and he's the lead villain and an artificer but I let you decide what you'd rather read up on!

IMO Mark of Death was really bad and not worth it if you're just looking for a good changeling character. Heirs of Ash however, ranks up there with the Dragon Below and the Dreaming Dark as one of the best Eberron novel series.

Oh I don't know, the worst part should have been why they didn't clear up exactly what mark she bore but I do say it did make changelings look playable and her motivations and what she did during this series make a lot more sense than for example killing off what should have been a major character in the first volume of the Dragons Below.

It did highlight what Thrane Paladins were like and eventually showed a rather lack of sympathy for them... sorry was the various ways they were killed not an appropriate selling point?

Sorry I played in a greyhawk game where another player ran a paladin who made them look benevolent and wise in comparison although the thranes did start out on a few bad reactions pretty much alienating the entire settlement...

As for Heirs of Ash, I suspect the third book will explain the lead villain's inability to get over his past as if you've read the two books so far you'll understand he has to be a complete moron to accept his adviser's advice...

Now how do i set up a spoiler?

The Mark of Death was decent with a changeling as a supporting character.

The war-torn saga book three has a changeling also.

Come to thing about it bout 8 out of 10 novels have changlings just not all play large parts.

Yet... it should only be a matter of time unless 4e messes it all up, but as the novels aren't canon (unless mentioned say in the Forge of War) it shouldn't be a problem.
