I am curious if anyother dm's out there are using the Chaositech supplement from Malhavoc Press?

I have it but I haven't used it yet. Chaositech could be useful for boosting Dragon Below and Daelkyr cultist NPCs.

Funny you should ask that as one of my players decided he liked his grinder sword so much that he asked the "good doctor" for a strength enhancer and got muscle lacing.

Especially when players know Eberron's leaning to nior/pulp plot twists everyone knows the half-orc rouge is getting over his head, put the only clues is the mystery Fort check he now has to make once a week.

I've made a few posts before that Chaositech is a great "gear" book for Daylker and Aberration NPCs. It looks like it's even better when the PC get some of that tech on their own and then realize who it really belongs to.

My players dont know it yet, but Chaositech is just around the corner.

When I first read about the Daelkyr, Xoriat, Dolgaunt's and Dolgrim I knew that I would eventually include Chaositech. And it is so easy to fit into Eberron that IMHO it should be a "must have" for any GM who is going to be using these corrupting and vile entities.

Amen brother. I think if you can manage to keep players in the dark about the "prices" to be paid, the better. Though I couch that by saying you should be aware that some players don't like a "bait and switch" even with forewarning.

So the real question is how do you introduce the 'tech in the game?

For me, it was handed on a silver platter. I learned before I took over running a 6th level Eberron game that one player was looking for a "cursed" sword, something that "would give me some good stuff and do some bad stuff for me." How could I not smile as I looked at my Chaositech book when I heard that?

The next time he went looking for such an item, he met the "good doctor." The doctor saw too many men die in the war and was determined to find a way to help soliders survive without the use of the sort of magic that took to many of his friends.

Meanwhile, the consulting detective in the party has recently found an opened tomb with a fresh corpse nearby. The dead body has only a small hole in his skull and is missing it's brain.

wow, I can not believe that I missed that connection with chaostech and the far realms. Also, you can take the deity like monsters in the back of the book and make the Rajahs, with some tweaking of coarse. Man, what a mind job. I am so excited about this new relvation...scary.

on a side note, I would only keep the scerets on makeing these items to the dragon below and the major cities in khyber.

The only bad thing about chaostech is you need liquid chaos, from what I remember from the book, to power them. I would make ebberron dragon shards infused with the plane of xoriat (during the Daelkyr invasion) and it turned the insides of the shards liquid chaos. The silver marshes and Eldreen Reaches would be good choices on where to find these shards. You could also make abberations attracted to the shards to make it more exciting in searching for them.

What do you all think?

Another good source for Liquid Chaos could be Kythri, the Churning Chaos, a plane of raw chaos and possibility.
