For, say, conventions when carrying around an entire book of your characters to play isn't feasable, or just for the cool factor with your friends. :) http://www.geocities.com/edymnion3/DnD/DnDCardFront.jpg http://www.geocities.com/edymnion3/DnD/DnDCardBack.jpg Here's a quicky example card I whipped up to show how it would look. http://www.geocities.com/edymnion3/DnD/DarwinCardFront.jpg All you would do is make the card up, then print them out. If you have a printer that can do cardstock, boom, instant character card. Otherwise, poster board is easy to get, just trim a piece down to card size, glue these on, and grab some el-cheapo press on laminant. What could be cooler for a new DM than to whip out a deck of your character cards to choose from for the game? :D |
| Kaoru Nagisa08-04-06, 08:47 PM | This is a useful idea, especially for one time games and whatnot. However, as yours has pictures on them, what would those of us who cannot draw well do about that problem? I also like the idea of equipment/magic cards. I've seen some, but it's a little out of my (limited) price range. |
| igotsmeakabob!!08-04-06, 08:57 PM | I like that Druid card.. and wow, Darwin is a great name for a WF druid... Anyway, yeah. I like it, where did you get that pic? Draw it? Yer damn good. |

| igotsmeakabob!!08-04-06, 10:43 PM | Holy crap. I just look at all his stuff and must've saved at least 15 pics to my pictures... friggin' amazing stuff. Especially the Eberron pencil drawings. |

| Kaoru Nagisa08-05-06, 04:36 PM | Hmm, this reminds me of something. In the D&D miniatures sets (I've bought a few... but nto so much to ever play Miniatures as for higher quality miniatures for my D&D games. I've got plenty of cheap plastic minis to represent cannon fodder... but not much in the way of really cool stuff.) each mini comes with a card with stats on them and so forth. It seems to be a really decent way to inform all the information for characters. |
| igotsmeakabob!!08-05-06, 05:13 PM | Oh yeah, D&D minis are great for models in your D&D game. And yes, if the minis actually are WHAT they are in-game, all the better. Usually we have a Formorian representing a Dire Elephant etc etc, since they're the appropriate size.. players can usually find a mini that they like to represent their character but sometimes its hard for a DM to find 12 medium water elementals so 1 or 2 are actually water elemental minis, the rest are celestial bears, thugs, goblins, barbarians... anything that fits the square size needed. You just say "THEY ALL LOOK LIKE THESE 2!" and hope there aren't TOO many jokes about... well you'd be surprised how much creativity players can come up with when theres a joke in there for them. |
