I have a warforged (st 20ish) that wants to throw a halfing rouge (roughly 35 to 50 lbs. (i think)).

was wondering if anyone has any good resources or house rules on throwning distances and DC relating to throwing humanoids.

I would suggest looking in the PHB, it should give you a good enough idea on the DC, for throwing objects, then i would also add a few to this to cover the fact that the little blighter would be skwirming about.. Unless of course he is unconsious.

There's the Fling Alley feat in Races of Stone, but they gave it a rediculous prereq that only the new race they introduced can meet.

Way I handle it though is that you can throw the halfling with a 5' range increment. If you hit the target, the halfling is considered to be Charging, and can still take a full attack when it hits. Take either -4 to hit for the hurler, or spend a feat for proficiency in flinging people.

We do that in our game too. We call it a halfling shotput after the orcish shotput. Normally we do a ranged touch attack w/ a -4(?) modifier for it being an improvised weapon. We figured touch because the thrower isn't trying to put the halfling through the target, just get it close enough for the halfling to either land on it or grab onto it. As a DM, I didn't want the penalty too high because I really enjoyed the thought of a halfling flying through the air. :D

I'd note that even with a high enough strength to do this, a halfling's weight is more than that of normal weapons (about double that of any core weapon designed for a Medium character)... so I'd treat it as throwing a two-handed weapon not designed for throwing- it takes a full-round action (though I'd let them pick them up and throw in a round, just to make life easier) unless you've got a feat like Throw Anything.

And the proper name for this is the Fastball Special ;)

For us, rules for throwing the halfling are ranged touch, with a range increment of 5 feet. Squares have a base AC of 5, subject to normal modifiers. Halflings are considered to be charging, but take a -4 no-footed penalty to attacks.

After the attack, the halfling has to make a balance check (ballpark dc 20) or fall prone.

And opposed grapple check required to throw me. An opposed grapple check I *always* lost.

Ah, another X-men fan.

Heh - oddly enough my character (A Kalashtar Psychic Warrior) and my buddies (A dwarven paladin of the silver flame) have their own fastball special - When I use expansion I fling him (I have a 22 strength when large sized).

In our games we treat them as hurling a grenade with a range of 10' feat. If you don't hit the touch AC of the target you are throwing the figure at, you roll on the grenade like variation table.

Cheers,

Or the Half-Giants from Expanded Psionics or the Half-Ogre from Savage Species. There is also a feat in one of the Faerūn books that gives you the same ability as the Golieth.

I'd have it be a 10' increment, and use splash weapon rules. However, the hapless halfling would be subject to falling rules, though could tumble (but not jump) to reduce the damage.

What I find funny is that once you hit epic levels and take the Distant Shot feat, you can chuck that halfling from the top of Sharn to Wroat, no problem (for you, anyway)

I would just have the throwing PC make a grapple check to grab hold, and then a strength test and compare the strength test to the Jumping DC table in the PHB and say that's how far he threw the little bugger.
