Christmas in eberron HOORAY! [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-25-05, 08:39 PM Im thinking of a chirstmas themed adventure for a party in Sharn but Im stuck on how to make it unique, Im thinking a werewolf hunt but Im not stuck on the idea, oh and by the way merry chirstmas everyone.

It can be sung by any bard along the way.

As for encounters, animated pine trees will do as well as various seasonal flowers and boxes. Beat the spirit of the holidays into them. I'm told it's a war afterall.

12-26-05, 12:20 PM ...13 days? Why 13?Read the campaign, the lost baker's dozen is a reoccuring theme. 13 moons with one lost. 13 major dragonmarks, with one lost. The number 13 with one item lost or destroyed is almost a running joke in the setting.

Which I'm sure has nothing to do with the fact that 13 is a baker's dozen, and the setting's creator is Keith BAKER ;)

12-26-05, 12:46 PM I hate to add fuel to the fire ( ireally do), but i happened to add a festival week that leads up to Kol Korran Mass at tthe end , when it's xmas in real life( For some reason i see the Flamites worshipping a festival of lights/flames at the same time as kolkorran mass)

THE NIGHT BEFORE KOL KORRAN MASS

Twas the night before Kol Korran Mass when all threw the Vil,

Not a creature was stirring, not even the Zil

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that Kol Korran soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

forgetting visions of war and the previous bloodshed;

The Warforged in Adamantium, and I in my cap,

Had just settled down with an eneveration trap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the dungeon to see the matter.

Away to the exit I flew like a flash,

Tore open the Porticulus and put aside the lash.

The 12 moons on the breast of the new-fallen night

Gave the lustre of the objects all the more bite.

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a small dragonne, and a flustered dragonner,

With the jingle of gold pieces ,so the draggone ran ,

I knew in a moment it must be Kol Korran.

More rapid than eagles his wagon it came

And he blessed and shouted, and called out the same;

"Now, Presents now, Commerce now, Drink and Vittles

On, Platinum on Gold Piece on, Silver and Copper!

To the top of the town! to the top of it all!

Now give presents , give presents to all!"

As goblins that before the dwarvish might fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, assended to the sky,

So up to the house-top the Draggonne flew,

With the trade wagon full, and Kol Korran in tow.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard with a braw

The prancing and pawing of each little claw.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

Down the chimney Kol Korran came with a bound.

He was dressed in red and white, that point being moot,

as his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;

A bundle of magic he had flung on his backpack,

And he looked like a peddler just opening his haversack.

His eye-- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!

His face was so ashen, dirty so very!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the chin was as bare and as white as fresh snow;

The wand of fly he held tight in his hand,

And the smoke it encircled his head like a intellect band;

He had a broad face and was a little smelly,

Much like a dwarf with no beard and no belly.

He was thin and lean, a right commerce sprite,

And destined to bring captilism to all in the night;

A masterful prayer and a tap of his finger

Soon i was still as the Hold Person lingered;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled the town with the toys for the Berks,

And pointing his rod of wonder he froze,

And giving a nod, up in the air how he rose;

He sprang to his wagon, to Draggone he whistles,

And away they all flew like 2 magic missles.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Kol Korran Mass, and to all a good-night."

You all wake to find presents under your bed,

with price tags still attached saying shop at Kol korran's in red

12-27-05, 12:48 AM I posted a similar thread on the people and places side....Using the stats for St nick from Wizards and an idea from Narnia have Nick send the pc's to deal with a Gnoll incursion to a village where children are being threatened. He may give them healing potions and stealing from Narnia, maybe a sword, bow, shield, horn, etc.....<G>

Just figuring out the where to put it........

I own the setting, but didn't read anything about any moons. O_o;;

wow, um. I really don't mean any offense, but how long have you owned the setting. It's practically commong knowledge about the 13 and the moons. IN the ECS the moons are either in the front of the magic section or in the front of Chapter 9, "Life in the World".

12-27-05, 04:01 PM Our DM had a christmas themed adventure. It was great because it was absolutely illogical and purely comical.

The basis of the game went that we were confronted by a strange man in Sharn (Who was basically my DM pardoying our other DM who likes to go on and on about how the rules work ["Now, a bastard sword is ALSO called a hand and a half sword... and with proper training, can be used with one OR.. OR... TWO hands..."]). This man told us about a being named Santa Claws who went around kidnapping elves for his nefarious deeds.

Then he whisked us away to Santas work shop, and santa turned out to be a bone claw.

Corny? You bet. When santa died he said "Ho ho NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and we all got pretty angry at that. On the other hand, my character (Treant going on Druid) got a talking owl as a christmas present named Professor Owlington.

Is it a serious adventure? no. But neither is our campaign. WE make the kind of character we want and have an ass load of fun with it in a non serious way. And I have an owl. twas grand.

12-27-05, 08:11 PM The Feast of the Traveler is actually a pretty close approximation to Christmas. People get together to eat, exchange presents, and offer kindness to strangers. How much closer can you get without having the Traveler born in a manger?

Hmm, two parts helpful, one part condescending. Thanks for the article, though.

And I have only own the setting, in my hands, for... 2 full days now. It was a Christmas present. So the little details like that are still hidden from me.
