| Weiser_Cain08-16-04, 10:32 PM | Lets say I have a warforged Rouge with a Circlet of preservation with a spirit already in it of a warforged wizard ,and the they have a arrangement worked out so that they swap back and forth without a problem. If the body was originally the rouges what are the stats when swaping to the wizard? And what happens when the wizard levels up while in control of the body? Do they both get xp? |
| Edymnion08-16-04, 11:15 PM | Mental stats (Wis, Cha, Int) change with the user. Physical stats (Str, Con, Dex) remain constant. You treat them as two seperate characters for terms of levels and xp. As in, when the Rogue is in control, only the Rogue gains xp. When the Wizard is in control, only the Wizard gets xp. The Rogue and the Wizard can level up independantly of each other. They are, essentially, two totally seperate characters that just share the same body from time to time. |

| Weiser_Cain08-17-04, 02:29 AM | Yes its the first thing that came to mind when I read it. How does this apply to feats then? |
| Save_vs_DM08-17-04, 04:50 AM | Only the personality in control at the time can use his feats. (don't ask me HOW this works with Mithral or Adamantine Body...As a DM I'd rule that both of them have to take that feat as their first level feat, if applicable). Bascially, the easiest way to think of it is this: Make 2 characters with the same physical ability scores. These are the two personalities. Keep track of each sepearately, depending who is in control of the body at the time. Cheers, save vs dm |

I repeat, you have TWO SEPERATE CHARACTERS in one body. Each have their own XP, each have their own skills and feats, each has their own everything. The ONLY thing they share is the body they are in. One personality cannot use the skills or feats of the other. They cannot use the other's weapon unless they are also proficient in it. They are two seperate characters. They would have two seperate character sheets. Whenever you want to know how they would interact rules wise, they interact exactly the same as if they were two people with two seperate bodies. |
| Weiser_Cain08-17-04, 07:21 PM | But what about feats that affect the body itself? |
| Edymnion08-17-04, 07:51 PM | The original warforged (the one that found the circlet with the other personality in it) would have spent his own feats on body upgrades. After that, any further feats get paid for by whoever gets the level up. Since the "feat" is actually just a body modfication, both personalities get to benefit from it. Anything having to do with the body affects both. Anything that effects the mind (spell effects, experience, training, etc) affect only the active personality that it happened to. |
