I have a new group starting and about to run through the ECS starter mission and into Shadows of the Last War.

Here is what they desire for classes and characters:

Human Paladin (dragonmarked)

Warforged Barbarian

Changling Druid

Human Cleric (dragonmarked)

Shifter Rogue

This being my first Eberron campaign, and hopefully a long running one, I am asking for advice for suggestions on what House the Human Paladin and Cleric would likely belong to, as well as advice for the Druid's sect that may tie them to the offiical campaign series.

I'd like to try and sway our Cleric to perhaps go Halfling and place him into Jorasco if I can, but seeing as we have both a Paladin and a Druid, I have also suggested Artifacter to him as well.

Anyway, suggestions from anyone?

The paladin might be a member of House Deneith, the mercenary house. Asside from hiring out mercenaries of the Blademark, they also operate the Sentinel Marshals, which are kind of like the FBI, having the authority to go over political borders in the aprehension of criminals. (The sample Sentienel Marshal is a deneith Paladin).

The Cleric could be from House Orien, and secretly worship the Traveler, but since eberron allows for more flexibility, he could worship the Traveler in the sense that he looks to protect people traveling Orien trade routes. (Orien is the House of Passage).

The Changeling's druid sect really depends on what kind of druid he wants to be. Is he an extremist? Does he want to protect people as well as nature and make sure they coexist peacefully? Does he think the end of the world is coming? Really need more info about his beliefs before I suggest a sect for him.

What religions, or beliefs are the Paladin and Cleric followers of?

I'd say let the Cleric play the class they want, however, just remember there is more than one way to play a Cleric.....Unless they want to play the bandaid of the group. A cleric of Dol Dorn, Balinor or the Traveller would make for some interesting roleplaying.
If you really want the Cleric to be something else I'd say a Rogue would be useful.

Just from experience House Deneith usually makes a very good choice for adventuring parties. Lots of different options that can be easily played through that House.

Actually AvonRekaes, I don't want to nit pick but you are incorrect in your comparrison; the Sentinel Marshals of House Deneith are more likened in their duties to what the U.S. Mashals service agents do. Click this link for more info on The U.S. mashals Service duties (http://www.usmarshals.gov/duties/index.html) Go down to Fugitive investigation. The Deneith Sentinel Marshals are more like them because they capture fugitives. The crime they have commited is irrelevant to a Sentinel Marshal, they are only concerned with capture and recovery. Now, the Sentinel Marshals can and do travel over territorial lines to capture criminal. The U.S. Marshals can travel over state lines.

The FBI on the other hand is more in the business of investigation of crimes that have already happened. I'd say you'd find more House Tharash inquisitors a good comparrison to the FBI, if they'd organize into a more specific guild than the Finders Guild.
See here for The F.B.I. (http://www.fbi.gov/priorities/priorities.htm). While they do have the ability to work internationally they can only do so if asked by that govt. and they can never apprehend a criminal on foreign soil. They have to wait for the local law enforcement to do that then transfer them into custody.

O.K. I'll stop the law enforcement tutorial now, but I just want to correct a commonly held view of what the FBI does and what the Sentinel Marshals of house Deneith do.

I would agree with AvonRekaes about you Paladin. They do make awsome House Deneith members. You might also think about House Tharashk too. Depends on what you're wanting to do with him. On the Cleric, What's his religion?

We have a Shifter Rogue joining us as well, her participation was questionable, but has been confirmed. (She has been added to the original list)

My player base is younger, so their backgrounds and reasons for being are mine to mold. It gives me some advantages in that I can mold the players/adventure based on a history I can generate.

The Cleric has not picked a religion of yet, but he's made it clear he favors the House of Cannith, so I am off to see what options that may offer.

Onatar the god of the forge, of the Traveler the god of inspiration.

Onatar is the official patron of House Cannith, but the Traveler has a kind of under-the-table following, since the Traveler promotes inventing new things.

Tell the human paladin to wait for a Siberys Mark of Deneith. That Mind Blank he can cast multiple times as an Heir is a nice thing...and he can make up the Hit points and BAB he loses with the bonus feats.
