Saurenda 06-05-04, 06:33 PM	I was planning on making a Rak character with a few levels of Archmage to get "Reverse Projectiles" as a special ability once per day, along with turning another spell to cancel sacred damage once per day, or even dust shield, with a dragon chorot for Draconiclore, and a lycanthrope chorot. The question is can a Rainbow adept be a match for this kind of character? I had an idea to hide him. Even if my Rak disguises himself as another lawful evil character like say a Vampire Aristocrat. Detect Evil would pick him up, and he'd be less supicious being a diguise of like alignment. Coatyls of course are also a problem themselves. but I've taken quite a few measures to make this Rak successful against players when I DM or other pcs when I play with(against) them. Though the rainbow winged Divine/Arcane casters may seem silly looking at thier skills is frightening. It seems they were meant to kill Rakashas, along with anything else evil. Is this the end of my idea for a Rak with a nuetral evil Brass dragon chorot, and Warrior/Werewolf? :behold:

N'wah 06-05-04, 06:45 PM	Depends on how you play it. I'd level the rakshasa with the PCs (after about mid-level, of course, unless you like putting 3rd level PCs up against rakshasas), and make him a cerebral villain. Have the werewolf cohort show up occasionally, first terrorizing NPCs for some reason (as a distraction, to get an item, to scare the local noble into a certain course of action, etc.) then show up to harass the PCs, always excaping to report to its master regarding their activities. Thave them run into the brass dragon (which they will probably assume is evil) and have it give them misleading advice that almost kills them. When they return, he could have already have left, with a trail of sorrows and misfortunes in his wake. Then they can get attacked by Mr. Werewolf again. Finally, have clues dropped as to what's really going on- the rakshasa is manipulating locals for his dire schemes via the werewolf and the dragon! I'd maybe make the rakshasa's disguise something like an evil cleric, because I'd still be blessing things if I fought a vampire, but if it's alive, probably not. You could have the PCs fight him a few times before he tricks them into coming to his actual lair in that desert place (the Dust one, the name evades me at the moment), where he reveals who he really is, how he's really just won (though he hasn't- yet, the PC's elimination is thew last step) and cue the final boss music.
Alathayn 06-06-04, 06:42 AM	Also remember that detect evil can be easily foiled and as hellcow once said, just that you detected somebody as evil, this isn't a reason to pick a fight with him. Evil doesn't actually mean somebody has anytime commited murder, it only means he could do it.
