SuperJohan 03-25-06, 02:15 PM	Ok so i asked in an earlier thread how to continue on the Xulo Pattern adventure path with my 6 players and i have decided to let my own imagination create adventures. I will post here my ideas on how to continue and try to build on the previous adventures. I hope for other DM's who have run these adventures to give advice to make the adventure even better and make it a better and more memorable adventure. The party consists of - Gnome Male Bard8 - Half-Orc Rogue8 - Shifter Fighter8 - Human Barbarian8 - Elf Sorcerer8 - Human Druid8 Background The PCs are contacted by a noble from the royal palace of Wroat, who is actually a worshiper of Vol, to entertain the King on a party from house d`Cannith. They will receive a grand sum if they entertain well. (This can be altered if the party doesnt have an entertainer by a house d'cannith invitation due to there good help with obtaining the Xulo Pattern off course) The party is for King Boranel from Merrix d`Cannith where Merrix will display a new discovery recently obtained from the Jungle's in Xendrik. This is in fact the Xulo Pattern which Merrix has obtained control over. He is attempting a coup in Wroat at the evening of the party. But if this will succeed will depend on a lot of things. When the PCs arrive in the city and find an inn, they will eventually head for the royal palace. The guards will tell them that they can enter at the back servant entrance after the 2nd evening chime. When they come back at the 2nd evening chime they will see the following situation: You see people walking at the palace walls, which look like palace guards. At the entrance you see 6 guards and another high ranked officer arguing with a band of 5 people which consist of a halforc male wearing a nice polished full plate and a greataxe on his back, a male human wearing a polished breastplate and having a mace hanging beside him. There are also 2 female humans which are nicely dressed with them and a little fellow in dark clothes in front of them. The halfling in front of them is arguing with the high ranked officer. A bit further where another gate is there is a elemental powered cart of house d'orien with 8 warforged guards entering. Suddenly you see arrows striking down at some guards walking the walls and a few on the guards at the entrance where the cart is entering. The situation The Emerald Claw attempts a theft on the Xulo Pattern at the service gates. They have hired the local thief guild to help in this matter. The band which is arguing is an adventuring party also hired to steal the Xulo Pattern for some noble in Karrnath. The adventuring party, called the Band of Knives, are Karrnathi natives and have fought many a time against Breland soldiers during the last war. The merchant who has hired them is in fact a worshiper of Vol and a high ranked officer of the Emerald Claw. But due to recent failures he has hired them to have 2 groups trying to bring it to him ( the emerald Claw attack force and the Band of Knives ). House d`Cannith escort: - 2 House d`Orien wagon drivers ( Earth Elemental Cart, Magically Sealed ( Arcane Lock CL7 )) - 8 Warforged War4 - 1 House d`Cannith Human Fig6 Royal palace Guards at entrances - 6 Human War4 - 1 Gatemaster Rogue2/Fighter4 Balustrade Guards - Human War 4 The Band of Knives - Brandon, Male Halfling Rogue lvl8 - Sazara, Female Human Sorcerer lvl8 - Norma, Female Human Rogue4/Fighter4 - Derrick, Male Human Cleric of ….. 8 - Grok, Male Halforc Fighter8 The emerald Claw attack force - 1 Vampire Fighter10 ( Captain Vresnoi ) - 2 Vampire Rogue6 - 16 Emerald Claw Soldiers Warrior6 - 1 Emerald Claw Rogue2/Cleric of Vol6 - 12 Human Rogue4 ( Local Rogue’s from the Thieves Guild ) - 1 Human Fighter2/Rogue8 ( Local Thug Leader from the Thieves Guild ) To be continued and tweaked. Wycen the Clueless 03-26-06, 03:12 AM	I'm of the opinion Merrix wouldn't be trying a coup. He has a valuable piece of magical history/engineering with Xulo and why the heck would he want to share that knowledge with anybody?
