After having read Quoth the Raven and liking the Orien Graveyard (a place in Sharn where discarded Lightning Rail cars are dumped), I wanted to brainstorm about some other interesting sites to have a battle in Sharn would be - my villain is going to make heavy use of Levitate and a PC has a Spiderclimb ability, and Sharn seems great for that.

However, what I really want to do is just make a general list of Cool Places for a Battle.

Now, let's get this out of the way, because it's all ready been presented in various sources:

On the top of a moving Lightning Rail.

In a burning building.

In a tavern falling from Skyway.

On an airship.

On a Sharn bridge during a raging wind/thunderstorm.

With that said, anyone else come up with a nice background setting that's either moody, exciting, or different found Anywhere in Eberron?

One battle I've been trying to work in to my campaign is a battle on moving gears in a clock tower.

Now just to find a useable clock tower...

If Sharn doesn't have one...

The hard part is finding one that uses gears and isn't the magical equivalent of a digital clock.

It could be interesting to set a clock tower battle in the midst of Zilargo. With the vast sums of money and research performed by the Gnomes, it would be surprising if the didn't at least have one in some part of the country.

Just make sure the PCs don't irritate the Trust:P

I've got something of a setup, but it involves some rules fudging, a particular NPC or PC, and bridges in Sharn (but not necessarily in heavy wind conditions).

Essentially, an adventure I want to run includes an NPC Monk/Rogue build with max ranks in Use Rope, Tumble, and Climb, with feats including Bull Rush and Improved Grapple.

He operates by using first a lot of running and hiding, gets away from the PC's, catches one offguard and alone on a bridge and uses both Imp Grapple and Use Rope (haven't figured out the logistics on how many actions this would require) to bind target 1. Assumedly at least one of target 1's allies would rush to his aide, at which point the Rogue/Monk either attempts the same maneuver, then Bull Rushes one over the edge, or pushes one and tosses the rope to the other while he makes his getaway.

As I said, this may require some rule fudging because I just can't decide how many actions it should take to bind someone, then you've got to pull off the Bull Rush before the PC's break out, etc.

The ultimate goal here is to accomplish a visual I have in my head; the other PC's move toward the scene to find their partners dangling thousands of feet in the air from a bridge, each bearing a look of shame as they are very carefully hoisted to safety.

Also, *cough* Jackie Chan *cough*

Can you folks make it make it mechanically sound?

Nundahl, this doesn't help you, but I immediately thought that this guy might like some Slippers of Spiderclimb. So he can move along the underside/side of bridges and surprise someone. Although he doesn't look like he's trying to hurt them.

Another thing you might try to do is use the Monk's stunning fist mid-grapple (since he's all ready 'hitting' so to speak).
