Correct pronunciation [Archive] - Wizards Community

Down in Brasil it's hard to find an authority capable of pronunciating "Eberron" correctly. It's impossible to come to an agreement as to what is the strong syllable.

So if anyone knows what's the correct pronunciation, can you enlighten us?

But in character, its just like any other word, it'll change in how it's said from region to region along with local dialects.

Look at a real life example, New Orleans.

I've heard it pronounced as New Orleens, New Orly-uhns, and the all time classic of the city natives, Narlins.

The stress on the second syllable is new to me. I'll keep calling it EBB-er-on, myself.

How about a few of the other words in the setting. I got into an argument with another player the other night as to how "Lyrandar" was pronounced. I was a proponent of "LEER-an-dahr" while he was pushing for "lur-AN-der.' Thus, I'll share my pronunciations of the rest of the Houses.
