i dont know if this has been asked before but:

How much do plain non-magical dragonshards sell for?

just for that extra touch of expense on your clothing/accessories

what is the size range for dragonshards (carat??, 1-5 cm, 6-15cm 20+cm)

Completely up to you. The value of dragonshards has been left in the hands of the DM because their value varies as much as, if not more than, normal gemstones. Quality of the crystal itself, flaws, the cut, peculiar properties (if it is going tbe used in magic) and so on all affect the end value of dragonshards.

I would suggest that Khyber and Siberys shards be a little more rare and therefore valueable than Eberron shards, if only because they come from far away.

Think of dragonshards as replacing the material component cost of creating magic items. An Eberron dragonshard big enough and pure enough to create a 2rd level spell wand is "worth" about 2250 gp; a slightly flawed dragonshard that can only handle a first-level spell is "worth" a mere 325 gp. But they couldn't be used as general currency--you have to sell them to people or industries that are going to use them.
