(no idea how the terminology for that should read sorry lol) As far as I can tell by the book the only way to figure out the cost is by determining what you are going to make out of it, according to the table on page 126. If you wanted to though, you could figure out the weight in lbs. of whatever you want to build, and then compare weight to gp value to figure out how much X amount of lbs. of densewood/livewood/etc. would cost. Apart from doing basic math or using the table for special materials in the ECSB, I'm not sure how else to suggest doing it. And as far as buying five trees of whatever type of wood, trees are all different sizes so it would be hard to tell. Weight is probably the best way to measure the value when comparing to gold. Anyway, hope that helps or gives you an idea at least.
