Do any of you know if the price and requirements to craft a warforged has ever been published?

I know that in Eberron you need one of those ancient construction forges to make a warforged, but since they were published in the MM3 (or was it MM4?) so that they could be incorporated into any campaign world/setting I am guessing it is now possible to craft them normally.

My current character is an artificer with the craft construct feat, and he is already pumping out constructs. What I'd like to do next is have him start "experimenting" with intelligent soul bearing constructs after he finishes finding a way to give his first construct a soul (any items for that in Eberron?!).

I believe in the Eberron book The Forge of War it mentioned that they were constructed for around 5000gp-6000gp, but they did not mention anything else.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Its really your DM's call completely.
Even in Eberron, while you could buy a warforged slave relatively easily, actually making one would require access to a Dragonmark of Making and a fully-operational Creation Forge. This comes under the heading of "plot device" not something a PC can just manufacture.
Outside of Eberron, you're right, it gets even trickier.

What you are in effect asking for is the ability to create NPCs. These should be covered under the Leadership feat, not the item creation rules.
Essentially, your DM is likely to say that "freak accident/non-reproducible events led to the creation of however many Warforged your Leadership feat allows you, but its not something you can just manufacture."

If what you are after is humanoid construxcts, I would suggest Effigy (complete Arcane) Humans. You can always give them the Rudimentary intelligence ability from the Dragon Magazine.
