While the warforged ninja is not the coolest creature in the D&D Creature Competition (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20050510a), I plan on voting for him as long as possible, just because he is the only creature representing for Eberron. I hope you will all join me.

I second this motion. Eberron forever! Hoo-Ah!

I love Eberron as much as you guys, but i'm voting the Tarrasque all the way. It's easy to implement a Warforged Ninja into an adventure, but the Tarrasque?? I'm interested in how they will pull it off. I mean teh Warforged Ninja v.s. the Tarrasque? That's just not fair-- unless he's epic lol.

No, he's inventive.

The key to defeating the Tarrasque is to figure out what it wants, and either provide it so that it goes back to wherever it goes when it's not out terrorizing the world, or convince it that whatever it wants is over there, where 'there' is preferentially on another continent, or possibly in deep space.

A warforged can figure that out, and a warforged ninja can keep from being stepped on long enough to put that plan into action.

The fight is between a Tarrasque and a warforged ninja. So what your saying is push the Tarrisque to another continent to beat it. First you have to get it across the ocean- the warforged ninja is not THAT powerful. The Ninja is cool and all, but come on- it's the Tarrasque! It's one of a kind and I think it would make an awesome adventure to run, especially when tied into some kind of Mournland plot or Dragon prophecy.

I will note that I am voting for the warforged ninja SOLEY because he is representing Eberron. Otherwise I would vote for the Terrasque as well.

Then again, if the marilith dervish takes down the Terrasque, we may never have to choose...

But Warforged ninja if Meepo is ever defeated.

All monsters and creatures have a place in Eberron, just because it is new and not in the Campaign setting or other books, does not mean it is not Eberron. We could request that the winner of the competition be set in an adventure targetted at Eberron.

Meepo vs. the warforged ninja?

Man, that would be like when Senegal played Turkey in 2002-- I didn't know who to root for.

That kobold Dragonshard was pretty good...

I'd have to go.... Meepo.

No-- ninja.

No no-- definitely Meepo.

I'm hoping for a Warforged Ninja vs. Meepo final round.

But if the Tarrasque advances, I can see it rallying enough support to overthrow the Warforged Ninja.

I can't see anyone in Meepo's bracket that can compete with his awesome might.
Guide D'Jorasco

More people voting for stupid kobolds, I mean I like them too, but more adventures with kobolds? Stop being old timers and get with the program here. lol

But kobolds are just like ninja: when a swarm of them attacks, they go down easy, but if it's just one kobold standing alone in the middle of the room with no visible weapons, it means you have two seconds to live.

Also remember that next round, wf ninja is against Jannys. This means that by voting for the ninja, you're voting for:
eberron
ninjas
warforged
coolness
originalty
justice

by voting for Jannys, you're voting for
drow
blandness
unoriginality
a character that for some reason beat the beholder swashbuckler, preventing a showdown with the warforged against its primal enemy

Remember, Agent Smith voted for Jannys, so did Hitler. Do you want to be like Hitler?
So vote for the warforged!

In order of Preference:

Meepo
Marilith Dervish
Ninja 'Forged
Tarrasque

If the 'Forged wins, hopefully it's an Eberron Adventure. Always need more of those. But the Idea of a Marilith dervish...

Come on folks!

We've got to vote for Meepo.

I love Eberron too, but I would love to see a return of Meepo. Would you vote for him if the adventure places him in Khorvaire?

Just a thought,

Rooster

I would vote for the WF, except that he's also a Ninja.
And I'm not voting for a silly ninja with a fanboy katana.

If he had been a normal class, or an Artificer, he'd have my vote.
As a Ninja though? No thank you, I'm voting for the Tarrasque. WotC knows that Eberron is popular, but there's no way in heck I'm going to help them think that Ninjas in D&D are good things. :P

So vote for the warforged!

Hahah! Your logic sold me, man!

Though I agree with Edy that if the WF would have been some -other- class, it would have been nice. As is, the WF Ninja just seems to be "representing" for the non-core suplements out there (a specific setting, and a splat book, woohoo).

But I don't wanna be like Hitler! So Go Warforged, Go!

Yes, well... ;)

I would support a Meepo vs. Terrasque final round (and would bet money it will happen) but when it comes down to it - Meepo has already starred in an adventure... the Terrasque, not so much.

Here you have a succubus paladin, the most unique/controversial/underused combo imaginable (not to mention alluring), and you argue whether to choose Meepo or the Tarrasque!? To each his own, but COME ON...

The thing that keeps bothering me is the way everyone keeps refering to the contest as if the creatures were actually battling one another, when it clearly says in the intro "Of course, in a pure fighting competition, you'd simply check each monster's Challenge Rating to decide which one would gain the upper hand. So instead, we've dragged sixteen creatures onstage for a friendlier competition -- to determine which one is our players' favorite creature (at least, favorite in this competition)."

It's not about who would win in a fight.

I want the succubus to win for the adventure's sake...but who wouldn't want lil ole Meepo to beat 'em all? :D
ryanroyce

07-20-05, 07:57 PM
Personally, I'd like to see most, if not all, of the creatures in the competition used in the adventure (or, preferably, the adventure series) somehow, with the winner of the contest becoming the centerpiece of it all.

Give Meepo plenty of bard levels and he can absolutely school the Tarrasque (note the beast's low Will SV and lack of immunity to mind-affecting abilities like fascinate and suggestion). A lone kobold won't get much respect, but a lone kobold bard with THE TARRASQUE as his cohort certainly will. :king:

Because its the feature creatute in a Wizards written adventure. Alot of people really want to see what Wizards will do with the greatest monster ever.

Because its the feature creatute in a Wizards written adventure. Alot of people really want to see what Wizards will do with the greatest monster ever. Unless you're referring to its size, I see nothing great about the Tarrasque. It's just a big (ok, really big) dumb animal (ye ye, "magical beast" w/e). I don't think anyone who's past phase I-killed-the-biggest-creature-in-mm-oh-yeah finds it interesting and/or memorable... but then again, that's just my point of view.

I'm with ya all the way on this one.

I don't think a single creature in the first round of voting that won was really worth the win....then again I kinda stopped caring after the first week when the Terrasque beat out the Gelatanous Cube. Plus it seems like alot of people are simply looking at CR's instead of actual favourites or coolness.
Oozes have got to be one of the most underrated monters out there. There are few more disturbing ways for a character to die than by the, 'hands', of a cube. (except maybe the tentacles of a mindflayer.....but they lost too).
Then again I also don't see the need for some of the absurd templates that have been applied to half the monsters either, but that's neither here nor there.

I would of voted for the warforge dude, but that wont happen any more...sigh.

I will vote for anything going up against the Tarrasque, as like some other posters have already noted, it just doesn't seem all that interesting....(that and it beat out my little jello buddy).

I'm hoping the Succubus Paladin wins as it would be cool to have an adventure where there was alot of moral ambiguitity to play with instead of just smash BBEG now.

But as we all know by now, (even if we do not accept), Meepo will win in the end.

......
,,,,,poor liitle jello dude. :weep:

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if that is the Succubus Paladin or the Iron-Golem Drow Lichess.
