Curious about some of the pictures [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-29-07, 03:17 PM In all the pictures that I see in the books, the adventurers are carrying these glowing weapons. They seem to double as torches. Are they just dragonshard weapons?

Where do I look for more information on these?

Thanks in advance, I'm in a real pickle because they seem to add so much to the eberron tone and theme and yet I'm not even sure what they are.

Yep, but thats a rule that (in my experience) most DMs either ignore or don't know about. It might not be 50% though, I think it is only 10% or something like that.

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised at how many people don't know about that rule.

Since it's Eberron, it might be a fire element bound weapon.

And I have several players who use their weapons and staves as a convenient target for light spells. Then there are the possibilities like flaming weapons and elemental-bound items.

Many answers. But I don't think that dragonshard items glow by default or anything.

Fully 30% of magic weapons shed light equivalent to a light spell (bright light in a 20-foot radius, shadowy light in a 40-foot radius). These glowing weapons are quite obviously magical. Such a weapon can’t be concealed when drawn, nor can its light be shut off.
