igotsmeakabob!! 02-03-06, 09:58 PM	Has anyone thought of some good curses unique to eberron? Writing up an adventure and some curses would be useful, but I like having little details like that in my games. I can't think of anything aside from 'the keeper take you!'

In my quest for a curse that was neither religious nor sexual, I came up with the one above. I actually use it in real life. I'm such a geek. :embarrass
The Necromancer King 02-04-06, 04:59 AM	To unabashedly steal from Robert Jordan, "Peace!" The world's been at war for over a century. When you've never known something, you sometimes come to curse it. Also, any other curse words as used in the Wheel of Time. You might also want to learn to curse in another language. I like Chinese for Elven, Japanese for Dwarven, French for Halfling, Danish for Gnomish and German for Orcish, but those are just my opinion. And I can't really swear in anything but Japanese and Danish... So dwarves and gnomes it is!
Hodo 02-04-06, 11:08 AM	I always envisioned gnomes as speaking with a strong german/swedish/yiddish accent. I had a gnome who had lots of "chutzpa", referred to loved ones as "bubbellah" and use words like "plotz", "shlep", and "yuchna". For more generic curses, one can always turn to TV and pop culture. Terms like "frag", "frack", "smeg", "smurf", "slag", "sith spit", "schmuck", "poodoo", so on and so forth. For me, a proper swear word should sound dirty, but in a silly sounding sort of way.

Zaphiel 02-04-06, 02:42 PM	Sadly, I've never been very creative at this kind of thing. All I've really done was something along these lines: Me: How well do I know elvish? DM: Reasonably well. You've read a few books and picked up a lot in taverns. Me: Ok. I'd like to insult his mother with all the elven obscenities that I know are applicable, preferably along the lines of negociable affection, him having unknown parentage and possibly having an animal bloodline. Oh, and toss in a couple references to him being a pansy too. And I'd like to be readying a belt knife while I say all of this to his face. DM: *rolls* He looks very angry right now and seems to be muttering while gesturing frantically.

"Six and Host!" - Gosh darn it!, General suprised/angery explative. "Kyber below.../Ring Above..." Several uses- "Oh Brother", Amazement, frustration. Just a few.
Lord_Cabby 02-05-06, 03:13 PM	One that I am very fond of is anything related to the number thirteen, since the thirteenth anything in Eberron will invariably disappear or be obliterated. Shout "Thirteen!" and everyone around will recognize that you are not at your best.

That's the 2nd cow we've lost this month. The usage is mostly Thranish, and shows mild frustration or disbelief "To Cyre with you" - as in: So you still think I am wrong, uh, Pagos? Well, to Cyre with you, you son of a goblin! IE - Go to hell. "Smart orcs and small dragons" - as in: Kendrick Oakheart claims he saw a ghost in the fields near McIntyre's farm. Bunch of smart orcs and small dragons, if you ask me. More likely than not, old Oakheart had a bit of Lady Mullihan's pipeweed that evening. IE - nonsense or poppycock
