| Uratoh12-26-05, 12:31 PM | the party managed to, awhile back, save Lucan. A natural 20 was rolled to oppose the sword's Ego, and he had them subdue him and bring him back. He's lately been in the Sharn chapter of the Dark Lanterns, wearing an amulet that convers him Protection from Evil to keep various intrests from mind controlling him. he may be dead/undead, but he's still a Lantern. im being libral on the vampire alignment change, so theres TEMPTATON to do it, but not will save vs alignment shift, to keep him around as he IS a neat NPC since he lived. The PCs are getting to the point where they could possibly take down his Sire...so I was debating, what aid they could get from the Lanterns to finish the job Lucan started...as well as to free up his necklace slot ;) Lucan's trustworthy, so long as ancient swords and vampire queens dont have a say in it ^_^. Not to mention they saved his sister, too, so he's REALLY unlikely to go evil of his own volition. |
| LugWrench12-26-05, 02:03 PM | The Lanterns probably have a few informants working for them. This is probably something that would take time, however, and the information may be distorted. They probably wont get a lead like "Fourth tannery in the Cogs, take the lift down and turn right and you cant miss it." They will more than likely run into a few dead ends and maybe an outright trap or two. Also, I dont think Luciens sire would be static the whole time. Everything is in motion, in a campaign, so I wouldnt be surprised if Luciens sire has gained a few levels in something. Sorcerer, say, or one of the juicy feats or abilitis in Libris Mortis. |
| Uratoh12-26-05, 03:29 PM | The ONLY things known about Lucan's Sire is that she's a 'Psychic Vampire', and female. And that she has plenty of undead troops. When I say PCs are getting to the point to consider opposing her, I mean theyre getting close to when I think shed be a good opponent, etc. |
| igotsmeakabob!!12-26-05, 03:40 PM | Quick question... this sounds pretty cool so wheres it from? Where can I find out who Lucan is etc? Not from Whisper of the Vamps blade is it? |
| Uratoh12-26-05, 03:43 PM | Lucan is the main antagonist from WotVB, yes. Basically he's being tugged around by multiple voices in his head...he's not REALLY such a bad guy, more like a CIA operative on a case gone VERY, VERY wrong. |
| Hola12-26-05, 03:43 PM | That sounds like the vampire hiding in the cogs, I'd make her psi warrior just for all the cool visuals you get with the related feats.(hope im not violateing CoC by talking about somthing that was in ScoT) |
| Korhal_IV12-26-05, 03:47 PM | Please continue to update this thread with your thoughts, as I too am contemplating having Caedrus (that's her name?) go after the PCs in revenge for sabotaging her pet. I am thinking of allying Caedrus to one of the big gangs in Sharn, presumably the Boromars. At some point during the PCs' quest to chase her down, the Boromars decide that it's no longer in their interests to support her (perhaps she does something egregious while attempting to finish off the PCs, perhaps they just tire of her company or lose too many goons to the PCs), and quietly step aside and indicate the PCs to her whereabouts. Because I figure my party of brickheads couldn't find their butts with a map and two hands, so help is necessary. :D |
| Uratoh12-26-05, 03:49 PM | The ONLY line in Sharn: CoT is basically, 'Calderus lives down here' in Undersharn/Cogs. How a female got a name like Calderus is beyond me. |

Perhaps Calderus is a hereditary name? It could be a last name, and a good Knowledge: history check could pull out some key information about the noble family. Or, Calderus could be a title for the ruling vampire. There might be some underling vampire in the shadows hoping for a shot to call him/herself Calderus. |
