| Takasi07-16-04, 05:05 PM | Went down to my FLGS today and picked up Shadows of the Last War. I haven't gone over the adventure yet, but I did manage to read through the short story that came with it. This is great stuff. It's cool to have a little mini-book packed into a module, especially when the story is so action packed. I was really drawn into the writing and I can't wait to read Keith's novels. Awesome job! Where can we find stats for the Greenshadow warforged? At a quick glance I couldn't find them in the module. They can "absorb sound and divert light, rendering (them) difficult to detect. (They have) perfect visual acuity at all levels of illumination - even mystical darkness." They are also described as having embedded crossbows with regenerating ammo that can be charged with fire or electricity at will. Nice! What about the snake construct and half-construct kobolds? What was the machine Karizal had? And why the interest in Pierce? Is he one of those ancient awakened Xen'drik warfarged I've heard rumors of? Why did Karizal want him? You can tell if a story is great if the reader is left wanting more. I have just one word to say: Gimme! :D |

Where can we find stats for the Greenshadow warforged? I'd say their armor has been enchanted with the Shadow and Silent Special Qualities, maybe even the improved version. The "visual" acuity could best be described as blindsight/sense... perhaps a face-slot magic item or add-on. The crossbow is described on pg. 268 ECS (the Armbow under "Basic Components"). What about the snake construct and half-construct kobolds? The snake I'd writup as a small, perhaps medium-size animated object with a pair of longsword blades for attacks. The kobolds are much harder... definately more HD than standard kobolds, higher AC, too. Without a point of reference, it's kinda tough to guage the monsters in the story. Was Daine 2nd level? 5th? And why the interest in Pierce? I think Pierce was one of the origional Warforged from one of the first Foundries. His almost 30 years battlefield and relationship experience caused him to develope a personality of his own and House Cannith wanted to study him, perhaps to find out how and why their warmachines were acting so human. Just some ideas. |

One thought that I had continually running through my head as I read about the half-construct kobolds is how well Chaositech (from Monte Cook) would fit in fairly nicely with the Eberron setting. Can't wait to run Shadows of the Last War either! Beware, the Mournland beckons.. Peterson |
