Fang-Kung 06-23-04, 10:02 PM	My question to the powers that be is related to the fact that I have 3 out of 5 people ready to play Eberron but want to play with the Deathless template. But to do this I need to know: what is the level adjustment for Deathless what races are limited to Deathless how do you later gain a Deatless template does a Deathless type raise the base creatures Hit Die to 12 -hit die or does it merely raise one or is it based on some Undying class we have not seen (Ascendant Councilor, Undying Councilor, Deathless soldier, etc) Do they merely gain a bonus to Will saves or do the deathless classes have Good Will saves
Slayen 06-23-04, 10:36 PM	Deathless isn't a Template, its a creature type like Undead. So no LA is not limited to race, although i don't think there are any outside of Aerenal. Again, its not a template so i don't think you can gain it. If one is and Elf of Aerenal and gains enough fame and respect, one might become a member of the Undying Court but thats about the only way i can think of becomeing Deathless Yes, it does raise the HD to a d12 It does grant a good will save.
Fang-Kung 06-24-04, 09:12 AM	Just as Half-Undead have a level adjustment of +5 (Fetch) to +1 (Gheden) so to do Death-touched +1 and Undead (Vampire +2), (Lich +2) etc... So it seems to me that the deathless type has a level adjustment.

As has already been mentioned there is no such template. it's a new creature type. Maybe it would be easier to tell those three players to forget about it? To me this doesn't really sound like they were actually interested in playing in Eberron...
ieattrollsforbreakfast 06-24-04, 12:06 PM	Although it is entirely possible to create a template that gives the character the deathless type (such as an archlich variant), no such template exists in any publication. Similarly, none of the deathless in either the BoED or ECSB are suitable for player characters, thus they have no LA.

Yes their are different types of deathless just as their are different types of undead, etc. just as the Sacred Watcher has a deathless template it can be added to just about anything. It looks as if the Elves have the market cornered in Eberron. The Sacred Watchers CR +2 makes me think that the template itself is has no extra level adjustment fore deathless seem fairly balanced. The question was answered by someone who knew a little about D&D rules...it seems most that replied didn't and answered the thread not knowing but to hear themselves speak which is unfortunate. :rolleyes:
Egris 06-25-04, 09:24 AM	As Keith told in another post, deathless characters DON'T leave Aerenal. So, what's th point to play a PC always in the same place, with the tight (as i can understand from ECSB and threads here) control in their city, and no so much to do other than help, sometimes, a living elf with the Right of Counsel feat?? BTW, i'll second Jhaelen though, they aren't really interested in play an Eberron campaign... ;)
