08-10-06, 06:27 PM There was an old Dragonshard article where Keith Baker provided an alternative demographics generator for NPC class levels in Eberronian settlements. The alternate model was presented to more accurately reflect the fact that PC classes are rarer than they are on other worlds.

I assume the absence of psionic classes from the demographics generator are to reflect the fact that psionics are even more esoteric than arcane prowess. Does anyone else agree with me? Or should psionic classes be treated the same as the arcane classes?

08-10-06, 08:01 PM Psionic classes should probably be treated as rare in most places. Though in Sharn and any other major ports, their would be a larger population of riedran agents (and more kalastar for this reason), so you could treat the psionic classes as being as common as thier closest equivalent (Psions - Wizard, Wilder - Sorcerer, Soulknife - monk, psychic warrior - paladin or ranger)

Indeed, that's what I would assume; within populations of Kalashtar or Inspired, or any other popuation with ties to psionic flavor (the occasional cult of the dragon below, for example) these classes would be more common, as other posters have mentioned, but they're supposed to be fairly rare among the normal population of Kourviare.

Though, FWIW, I'd picture the Wilder being the *most* common psionic class among humans with no other background of psionic training; whether they're touched by madness or just harnessing an inborn-and-uncontrolled psychic potential, it seems to be the most appropriate class for these situations.
