Charles Phipps 03-19-05, 04:21 PM	I was thinking of incorporating the various cults and prestige classes detailed in the "Book of Vile Darkness" into my campaign as various factions of the Cult of the Dragons Below. The Daelyr "base stats" are very intimidating but it occurred to me that they might be more interesting if I gave each of them the name of an existing fiend and their general apparence. (The "normal" stats for the Demon princes are off the charts and somewhat unsuited for Eberron) Thus, the players first cult of the Dragons below they'll be encountered is a Undead worshipping cult allied to members of the Blood of Vol (that they're impersonating) and they wear Goat heads plus have some rather peculiar wands... ;-) What do you think?

Essentially, my rationale is that we don't have nearly enough flavor from the servants of Khyber and demon cults. We need something to make them stand out as the demented nutty freaks that the handbook describes them as. The only problem I see is the Lords of the Nine seem too...well sane and pretty to be Daelkyr.

I don't think that either fit very well for the Rajah's and the Daelkyr. To begin with I do not see the demons as being nearly insane or alien enough to be Daelkyr. And the Archdevils are too tied to idea of Baator and also to specific devils and the like from earth. No, Eberron needs totaly new and unique unspeakable masters of evil. Perhaps we here on the boards should dream them up (we already have the lady of eyes who created beholders for a Daelkyr)

Just another user 03-20-05, 12:07 PM	There were other threads for the use of BoVD in eberron, too. My suggestion was to use them to represent ortodox/extremist sects of the Dark six, or of the druidic sects, and of course of the Dragon Below (and maybe even of the Sovereign Hosts
