Well, after some time I came up with this as a PRC.. It is heavily patterend after the weretouched master (post nerf version ). It was designed around my swift wing shifter rogue whom I gave bat like features to. please give me your professional thoughts:

Descendant of the Bat
The descendant of the bat is a shifter who has strong ties to a were-bat in his family lineage. Through introspection and meditation, he learns to tap into his bat heritage and bring forth extraordinary gifts.

Requirements:

• Must be a shifter
• Survival 5 ranks: the shifter must spend time in the wild to get in touch with his inner bat
• Intimidate 8 ranks: The Shifter must learn to bring forth the fear that bats evoke in people
• Knowledge Lycanthropes 2 ranks: The Descendant of the bat must study his ancestors…the true lycanthropes.
• Base attack bonus : +4
• Feats: Swift wing (races of eberron),

Class Skills:

• Balance, climb, hide, handle animal, Intimidate, jump, Knowledge nature, listen, move silently, spot, survival,
• Skill pts per level: 2 + INT mod

BAB Fort Ref Will Special ________________________________________
1st: +0 +2 +2 +0 Spirit of the Bat I

2nd +1 +3 +3 +0 Wounding Bite, Bonus Shifter feat

3rd +2 +3 +3 +1 Spirit of the bat II

4th +3 +3 +3 +1 Blind sight 30’, Bonus Shifter Feat

5th +3 +4 +4 +1 Alternate form

• Spirit of the Bat I: While shifting the DoB gains a +2 to dexterity (in addition to any other shifter Dex bonuses he already receives while shifting) and grows fangs that deal 1d6 damage (+1 additional /per 4 character levels he has). If he already has the long tooth shifter feat or the improved natural attack feat his bite damage increases by one die size
• Wounding Bite: The DoB taps into a species of bat that feeds on the blood of other creatures. The vampire bats salvia secretes an enzyme that acts as an anti-coagulant, causing wounds to bleed more freely. Each time a DoB hits with a bite attack he causes a bleeding wound. This wound bleeds for 1 point of damage per round. 2 wounds causes 2 extra points of damage 3 cause 3 etc…
• Spirit of the bat II: Flight speed when shifting increases by +20’ and maneuverability increases to good.
• Blindsight 30’: The DoB learns to tap into a bats natural ability to emit radar. This 360 Degree radar exists up to a radius of 30’ surrounding the DoB and grants in the blindsight special ability while shifting.
• Alternate Form: At 5th level the Dob can assume the form of a Hunting bat (MM2 pg. 66) and a hybrid from similar to an actual werebat. This costs the shifter 2 uses of his daily shifting alotment. Instead of using the normal shifting ability, he can shift into animal form as though casting the polymorph spell on himself. He does not regain HP for changing forms, and he can only assume the form of a hunting bat or hybrid. The Dob does not assume the ability scores of the hunting bat but rather adds the bats ability bonuses to his own scores (see following table). A DoB can also assume the form of a hybrid bat humanoid w/ prehensile hands and bat like features. In hybrid form he can use weapons and armor.

Bat/Hybrid form ability adjustments
• Strength +2
• Constitution +2 (+1 HP per class level)
• Dexterity +6
• In hybrid form he becomes a large creature if he wasn’t already one with a reach of 10’ and gains improved grapple as a bonus feat
• Blood drain – in either form he has now mastered the ability of the vampire bat to sustain himself on the blood of other creatures. By making a successful grapple check, and pinning his foe the Dob can drain blood dealing 1d4 Constitution damage (+1 if he has the long tooth elite shifter feat).each round the pin is maintained. On each successful attack the Dob gains 1d4 temporary HP’s up to a max of 20 temp hp’s

Too powerful...not powerful enought? Suggestions please

Thanks!!!!! for Looking!!!

well I don't have my books here so I can't compare to the already available material to check if it is over/under powered. I do like the flavour though, playing a bat must be cool.
I do think the intimidate is over the top, once you become a bat you might inspire fear but before the transformation you're not all that bad.

Does Weretouched Master give you an alternate form? Can't remember off the top of my head.

Furthermore, is there a Bat-centered Shifter feat?

I honestly think you could do away with the class with two shifter feats...

One, giving blindsense in a 5' radius/shifter feat you possess while shifting.

The second, giving you a bite that causes wounding if you have the first feat.

You could tie both or neither of them to the Shifter feat that grants you gliding wings.

It does at the last level. But this gives some features that aren't in the book.

Yes it does .at the last level. I kinda like the idea of using 2 shifter feats...but they dont exist, so i'd have to create them and then petition my DM...but maybe thats an easier option. This PrC does not give any more features than the weretouched master...just different features, as some of them did not apply to what i was trying to emulate. I think I will change it so that it requires 2 uses of daily shifting to change intot he alternate form... keep the comments comming.

thank you

Dude! It's like... BATMAN! /inside joke from the 1001+ things thread.

In all honesty, you could probably just make it a modification to the Weretouched Master PRC, since that is what it's based on, as far as I can tell. I'd drop the shifter feats and at those levels add one to your shifting duration and +1 shift per day at 4th. That will give you the same power curve as the weretouched master (which is a bit underpowered, but not as horribly as some suggest)
