Well i'm certainly no expert on game balance and/or design so i can't help you out too much in that department.

The criticisms i CAN give, on the other hand, are more...shall we say grammatical? i don't know if you're not a native speaker of English (i certainly hope so for your sake.) But there's a LOT of errors in there. You might want to have someone proof any more you put out there. If i get the time, and you want me to, i can certainly go through and fix the ones you hav eup so far.

The other problem I had was that you left out manifestation descriptions for pretty much all of them (either that or i just didn't notice them.)

Criticisms aside, i like the flavor of the Vestiges you've invented. They seem to fit well into the setting and, were I a DM, i'd definitely put them into any Eberron game involving Pact Magic. Good work in the fluff department!

I agree the fluff is good, and the influences dont seem to overlap with existing ones, which is good.

Thanks for your comments, and yes English is not my first langage. Sorry for all the mistakes...

I intentionnaly left the Manifestation part because I like as a DM to left some of the things in control of the player. The Pact magic is a good mechanic AND enforce Role-play. Role-play mean imagine, invent,... But i could edit my posts and add it too.

I am the only one who post vestiges design in this thread, don't be shy to let go your imagination and post yours...

I like the fact you use the Silver Flame, my favorite Eberron religion, so I will try to do it.

Name (and legendary name): Drego, the backstabbed
Level: 3
Binding DC: 24

Legend: Drego was a paladin of the Silver Flame. He was paranoid of both the Cults of the Dragon Below, and the Lords of Dust. He got whiff of a plot to assanate the keeper of the Flame using both groups. Drego started a group and went to protect the keeper. Upon entering the Chamber, his allies ceased him and killed him. Actually, there was a plot to kill the keeper, but it was stopped by others. They never got atoned.

Drego's soul could not rest because he was backstabbed by allies, and his anger created him as a vestige.

Special requirement: Must not have betrayed someone.

Sign: Your irises and pupils turn bright, angery red. No game effect.

Influence: You are suspicious of everybody, causing you to not eat something they made until they have tasted it, not accepting gifts, etc.

Powers granted:

Fiery Gaze: You must succeed in a ranged touch attack to deal 1d6 fire damage per every 3 effective binder levels.

Armor Proficienty You gain armor proficienty with heavy armor.

Smite You add your effective binder level to your attack roll and your Charisma modifer to the damge roll. Uses: 1/every 3 binder levels.

Detect Chaos You can use the spell Detect Chaos at will.

Great concept Startoman24!

The idea is great but probably the requirement is a little bit hard to have... never betray for all a life???

The smite could be limited to 1/5 rounds for having the "Vestige feeling".

I also really like the Silver Flamme. A way to introduce the vestige is to tell vestiges were part of THE Flamme. Demon, coutl,... are part of it so why not vestiges also?

I currently run a WarMage/Anima Mage of the Silver Flamme with this concept. He could use Vestiges because he is in a special group directed by an evil Cardinal who want to understand vestiges and use it for power.

How would someone make XULO from Grasp of the Emerald Claw into a Vestige?

There was a thread with a couple homemade ones waaaay back when ToM first came out- Tira Miron's mortal spirit (the part that didn't join the Flame), and Taratai(sp?), the 'dead' Quori spirit.

I'm not sure if the thread's still around (threads fall off the edge of the Eberron Boards much too quickly, IMO)

I'd like to see a Vestige of:

1) The Overthrown Goblinoid deity
2) A Deific Daelkyr
3) The Giant who severed Eberron's ties to Dal Quor
4) The Lord of Blades (Surprise! He's a Vestige! :P )

Using Taratai as the basis for a vestige seems fitting :)

...I'd love to see what someone came up with for that (if not, I might have to make one myself heh).

Anyone happen to have the link or the info coppied down somewhere?

There were a few vestige threads, but they dropped to the nether reaches of the archives. Here they are:

Some folks created a Taratai, Tira Miron, and a Daelkyr vestige here:
http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=627993

It's worth noting that I believe that thread occurred before was before the article with suggestions on creating them, and so we were still debating issues of balance.

This one's a little different, and was mainly aimed at adapting ToM's vestiges for Eberron:

Those are great vestiges, Luc.
I only have a minor criticism around flavor. I have always seen Vestiges as remnants of powerful beings who have left their mark in the history of the world. Some of the backgrounds you chose don't seem as world-altering as a being that leaves a Vestige should be, IMHO.

How about adapting the existing Vestiges to Eberron?

I got a few ideas, some of which require heavy rework on their legend, but the abilities/influence/manifestation provided in ToM seem fairly appropriate in most cases:

Acererak: Elandris d'Vol mother
Andras: Valenar Ancestor
Balam: The first Radiant Idol
Buer: Shifter Druid that lead the creation of safe havens in the Eldeen Reaches for her race during the Silver Flame crusades against Lycanthropes
Dantalion: Galifar's line
Haures: Taratai
Karsus: Giant who created the first living construct
Marchosias: Drow Sulatar ancestor
Tenebrous: Drow Umbragen ancestor who established connection with the Umbra

Here's my Vestige. Designed it for normal D&D, but it can be adapted.

Faeranta, The Foolhardy Trickster

Vestige level 4
DC 25

Faeranta grants you the persuasive powers of a nymph, as well as resistance to weapons and the ability to mimic others.

Legend: Faeranta was a powerful Nymph sorcerer. She was a renound thief and illusionist, until one day a powerful wizard fel in love with her. She, thinking it was just a fling, stayed with him a few weeks. When she tried to leave, he used the spell Unname on her. Removed from existance, she was condemned to become a vestige.

Special Requirements: You must either speak Sylvan, or have 4 ranks in Knowledge (nature) to summon Faeranta.

Manifestation: A small fey creature materialized out of the air. She is a Nymph, but shefloats above the ground, and her hair spirals around her head. She smiles a dazzling smile at you, waiting for ou to speak

Sign: You become more beautiful than before. Your features do not change, but they somehow make you prettier. You gain no bonus from this effect, though.

Influence: You can’t take anything seriously. Everything is a joke to you. . You can’t fall in love, ‘cause you think it’s just a fling. Anytime anyone seriously asks you for aid, you must delay helping them for 1 round. You may perform other actions during that time.

Granted Abilities: Faeranta gives you the ability to mimic others, the ability to blind others with your beauty, and greater aptitude at persuading people, as well as resistance to most weapons

Mimic: You may take on the form of any creature or person you have encountered since you bound Faeranta, as a full-round action with no maximum duration. This changes your appearance, height, voice etc., but your stats remain the same. It is only an Illusion, so anyone interacting with you in a purely tactile sense will detect the illusion. You automatically pass Disguise checks when mimicking someone. (3rd level ability)

Blinding Beauty: As a standard action, you can dazzle others with your looks. This causes all humanoid creatures within 30 feet able to see you to be blinded for 2d4 rounds. Once you use this ability, you cannot use it again for 5 rounds. (2nd level ability)

Wiles: You gain a +2 curcumstantial bonus on Diplomacy, Bluff, Gather Information, and Perform checks. This doubles involving members of the opposite sex. The bonus increases by 2 for every 3 levels above 7 you have. (2nd level)

Fey Resistance: You can damage reduction 5/ cold iron

I designed it for a lv. 6 Raama Binder of mine.
