WAs just sitting back and watching some old DVDs that I had forgotten about in a trunk when I came across one that really made a cool idea for a long stading adventure in Eberron for my players, and well, what if it was the Aryx Orthian that caused the destruction on Cyre and all? Kinda makes a bit of sence to me.
Has anyone else though of or has brought this nasty thing into Khorvaire? I am working on some plausable ways it could have worked it's way here aside from the standard "Cause I said it's here" approach and all, helpful ideas on furthering the cause of the adventure (cause originally only a little was shown to begin with) throughout the lands are most welcome.

It's a really cool idea and sound at that, but I have other purposes for the Dragon Council in my game coming up, and well, to have all the dragons bound up in my story isn't what I want to have.

Working off Edy's idea:

Hmm... DOOM3 + Rober Jordan's Wheel of Time and "The Bore" + Xoriat = dragon nuke stike.

I abuse pop culture for fun and alas, :weep: no profit.

The sages of the Cyre branch of house Cannith discover something amidst the myriad treasures returned from Xen'drick in the last years of the War. This obelisk of magically hardened adamantine is covered in minute runes in the Ancient Giant script and contains some sentient and maelevolent essence of the plane of madness. The house's premire researcher, Gyrein d'Cannith, is consumed by the study of this artifact and becomes convinced that it can be used to end the war. A loyal Cyrian citizen as well as trusted member of his house, Gyrein allows the presence of the artifact to be leaked to the Crown of Cyre, as well as its potential. Shortly after the leak all contact with Gyrein or his research complex is lost.

The essence of Xoriat, the secret behind the giant's success in severing the ties binding the quori to Eberron, consumes Gyrein d'Cannith. In his fervor to relize the potential of the artifact, the man sacrafices two of his research assistants in a ritual described by the text on the obelisk. A page, sent to deliver an angry message from the crown, enters the compound just as the ritual reaches completion. He witnesses the opening of a great "reality-sink", a deterioration in the rigidity and reality of existence over an area, and the emergence of a host of mind twisting horrors of Xoriat, wreathed in a glistening film of unwholesome light given substance, and writhing in time to a pulsing beat that seems to emanate from the soil of Eberron itself. The page, his mind destroyed by the very sight of such horrors flees, running for days, until he is discovered by a patrol of Cyrian soldiers. The commander of the mixed patrol of warfoged and human scouts sends the errant page and a pair of warforged back to the capital to report while he and his squad headed for the research station. What horrors they faced will never be known, they, Gyrein d'Cannith, the station and everything within a mile of the 'sink was consumed by what appeared to be an oily, gray blister in reality that warped the landscape around itself...

...and so the story could continue until a particular warforged soldier stood in rank, side by side with human compatriots and watched a dragon undo the ties that bound it's own physical form, releasing its own life energy into the completion of an arcane effort of epic proportions. The act nearly blinded the onlookers but stopped the still expanding blister, then the blister imploded. A blast of un-light, a rolling wall of mist, ropy tendrils of things that should not be cascading up into the sky to fall upon the major population centers of Cyre, cats and dogs living together, the end.
