Which would you chose? I thought about Horrid Boar Bacon, but something just didnt feel right about it.:yuck:

Certainly the Dire boar bacon would last longer (Dire boar being a large animal vs mage-bred being a medium), I have to think the magebred boar bacon might have a sweeter taste. Still, I think magebred boar bacon would be much more expensive, and you ultimately wouldn't get much for your money, other than the knowledge that the pig in question knew he was destined for the dinner table.

If the boars were being bred for bacon, you would naturally find that the magebred bacon would taste better, as Vadalis would've gone to great effort to ensure that.

You know, that calls to the fore all sorts of theological and spiritual issues.

Why chose? Dire boars can be magebred too! :P

True, but I find that wild dire boar has a much richer, earthier flavor to it, and so lends itself far better to braising and the like. Magebred animals have a slight, well, effervescent flavor (i think its all the thaums involved really) and it tends to take the character out of the food.

Read the thread about the ice cream. This doesn't surprise me. But if you're gonna do it do it right: mage bred dire boar bacon! And Horrid wouldn't necessarily be bad. Might be a bit tangy.

My repeated visits to these boards just continue to reafirm my utter lack of confidence in the human race.

Of course, I suppose im partially to blame, by coming back every day, I just pour salt on the wound.

Tofurkey? So you eat Tofu Turkey bacon? Ok, that's it. I've finally heard it all. You can add all the different names you want for it, but tofu is tofu and no matter what shape you make it and how you cook it, it's still bloody tofu. And the more vegetarians I see, the more I'm beginning to think Soylent Green wasn't such a far-fetched idea*.

*although we're gonna have to figure out a way to fatten up the vegetarians before we can implement those plans. Have you ever noticed that people that eat so healthy are always a bit overly thin?

That sounds like "Awakened Bacon":D to me. Thats short for "Awakened Magebred Boar Bacon", though I suppose it could apply to any number of Boar types.

That's a good point, although the city-bred of Sharn would not know the difference. I wonder whether one can feed the boar potions of prestidigitation, to enhance their flavour?

Tofu is of type (ooze).

Yeah, I noticed, but I'm a bit heart-broken by it. In print it just doesn't have the right flair. That's one of those things that you have to say with a bit of a flourish.

Can we magebreed them so that they want to be eaten, to the point of volunteering? You know, appease all the Druids for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Also, the ability to float like a Beholder would be nice. That way the meat stays tender all over.

I say we make awakened magebred animals, and give them an education system about how their only purpose in life is to die to feed others. Its like practicing world domination through education!

I officially want to play a ranger in a comedy Eberron campaign who has the ultimate goal of catching and devouring the bacon of this singular delicacy, and then selling the rest of the meat to some Inspired noble, which will cause Dal Quor to become coterminous in an effort to sample the delicious pork.

But enough of this punishment. I choose magebred boar bacon. I am a count, after all, and a count can only consume the most frivolously expensive of foodstuffs.

The best bacon out there is:

Titanic Horrid Magebred Dire Boar bacon.

Why is it the best, do you ask?

Because casting True Resurrection on it during a fancy dinner party makes for a great distraction when you want to steal the crown jewels.

Almost as good a distraction as casting the same spell on the druid's dragonhide full plate.

Let's be serious for a second here. I, as a person in real life, can't stand any sort of pig product. I don't like hot dogs. I don't like pork chops. I don't like any sort of thing from a pig...except bacon. For some reason, that one pig product is absolutely delicious...but I find everything else from that animal absolutely disgusting.

So, I have to say, that even TITANIC CELESTIAL DIRE MAGEBRED BOAR OF LEGEND chops would be good enough for me to sample, and then offer my plate to someone else. But bacon...give me the bacon of a horrid corrupted fiendish pig, and I'd mow that stuff down like it was my last meal.

It's not awkward, it's a perfectly natural bodily function. Apparently our bodies were designed to produce those sounds and the noxious odors associated with them. I think it's part of the "mating dance" or something.....
