Venrev 09-14-04, 12:07 PM	Greetings fellow gamers. Can anyone suggest good movie scores and/or music that work well for D&D games? The Last of the Mohicans soundtrack works great, but that's all I've got. The group called Massive also makes great epic music too. Any suggestions would be appriciated. I also might be crazy, but did I see that the Sharn book comes with a CD of music?! I buy. I buy NOW! We have to wait till November?! Hey, Wizards, what's up? Got a spare Sharn book laying around? I will gladly check it for errors...
Save-vs-DM 09-14-04, 04:40 PM	I also use music extensively. Here is what I currently use. Links are listed for easy reference. If you own the new Temple of Elemental Evil PC game, all the of the game music is in mp3 format (which was such a good idea, PC game designers take note!). The music is perfect for DnD, and all of it loops seamlessly (I use certain tracks for loops in certain areas). Midnight Syndicate did a CD of DnD music: http://www.midnightsyndicate.com/main.htm Blackmore's Night is excellent tavern music (and good listening anyway). http://www.blackmoresnight.com/ Under a Violet Moon has an excellent track called Beyond the Sunset that is instrumental - it is very somber and sad, perfect for a ghostly bard. Ghost of a rose is just a great albumn all around. Ryltar Swordsong 09-14-04, 10:09 PM	The LotR soundtracks and the Gladiator soundtrack are staples of mine. Try to find music that fits the situation. Anything will work if the song fits the mood.

Edymnion 09-14-04, 10:46 PM	Anything from John Williams will work well. If you don't know who he is, he's the guy that wrote the music for movies such as Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars, Harry Potter, ET, and all the other movies like that that Eberron is based on.
Simon Jester 09-14-04, 11:19 PM	I know it sounds a little weird but many computer game cds have good music on them that can be played in a regular cd player, with the program taking up the first track on the cd. Total Annihilation and Homeworld both are very good, with Homeworld being especially moody. Homeworld, Command & Conquer and Warcraft III all have music cds out, although the Homeworld and C&C ones are pretty hard to find now, but I think the game cds can play on a cd player. Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood War also, IIRC. I'll post more as I check them. Simon Jester :devil:

In my games, I always like the use of angry choral music (such as Duel of the Fates, in the Phantom Menace). It seems to work very well. For Simon: :cookie:

Loca`ne 09-15-04, 11:58 AM	I don't usually use music as background for the current mood or anything for that matter... plus I'd find it hard to try and sort through what I wanted for what situation... however if you have a good system down and can switch between tracks without it causing too much of a pause during gameplay then i could suggest a soundtrack of Inu-Yasha. For those of you that don't know that's an Anime. The soundtrack is full of your typical situational music. When a villan is present you know it by the sound of the music playing. All the tracks have no words and you instantly get the feeling of what the song is trying to portray. Deffinately a must have for anyone that likes thier games to have some neat background music. It's played by an orcistra (spelling?) so the depth and width of musical emotions is huge. Loca
