WynnHuntr2 09-21-06, 06:08 PM	Im running a Sharn based adventure, and Ive introduced a thread that involves Dessicated corpses, rats and goblins so far. The area has the stink of Demons and Devils according to one of the NPCs. I was wondering if there were any Demons or Devils that feed this way. I dont own a bunch of the books that have their ilk in them. Any help would be appreciated.
Neofish 09-21-06, 06:32 PM	Just go with a cell of dragon below cultists lead by a Dologaunt. Your NPC's term "Stinks of demons and devils" doesn't have be in a literal sense. It's not like he has seen a real demon or devil is it? So go with the cult, perhaps it's a feasting ritual in which, once they consume enough creatures of flith and dreg they will somehow be able to become stronger and more worthy of their gods.

Thanqol 09-21-06, 10:02 PM	If you get the Sharn sourcebook, it's got stats for "Radiant Idols" - fallen angels, cast down from heaven because they meddle with mortals. Among other things, they can make people their devoted cultists. That'd throw the PCs. Bust in, expecting a Balor or something - instead it's an angel with it's wings rent off, surrounded by a group of worshippers...

You could use a Nalfeshnee Demon (MMI) with the possessing template (BoVD, ECSB, FC1:HotA <Best options in the lattermost title>). There's your crunch. Fluff, Nelfeshnee serve as judges of souls (The ECSB places them in Dolurrh) that are always eager to begin the punishment. A conjurer that owned a tiara of thought detection was taken by this fiend. It is now loose in Sharn and scanning the thoughts of everyone it encounters. Usually casually initiating conversation in taverns, with topics and questions intended to cause the "target" to recall some "sin". Once the fiend finds a suitable "target" it takes them and tortures, destroys and partially devours them. You could also have the PC's discover some vomited remains of human meat, goblin meat and anything else the Nalfeshnee has been preying on. A sub-conflict of this plot is terrific in that the fiend is only targeting "evil" people, but justice is out the window when it gets it's claws on them. If you own the FC1:HotA you'll get the most from this. What do you think? I think your idea isn't bad either Thankqol, but I'd personally make it super subtle on the front end and nightmarish on the back end. Ask yourself, what might it glean from your mind, even if you didn't do anything but had a dark thought, and what would this thing do to you for it? hehehe

To make matters icky, (do not read... adult theme below) the succubus is possessing a teen girl, using her to manipulate much older people... the dessicated corpse belongs to one of her former followers who discovered the truth... Why is she doing this? I could elaborate on some possibilities, given more details of your game. - The girl made a deal for vengence based on recent abuse. - Never deal with a demon (accidental/puposeful summoning) - A family enemy enspelled the girl, forcing a possession on her by a fiend of Mabar.
