| Zealot_Reborn08-31-07, 02:35 PM | Ok, here's the dealio. The Eberron campaign i currently take part in features the Traveller in all his ironic glory, including in the party a human favoured soul who gets his powers from the Traveller and recently discovered his father was a changeling, and my character, a talenta halfling who thinks the entire situation is hilarious and now is attempting to start a cult devoted to the traveller. Anyways, my current dilemma. During a private roleplay session between the dm and I, my character in his dreams was transported to the plane of dol'urrh (sp?) and met face to face with someone whom i can only assume is the traveller. After a friendly conversation the likes of which can only be had between a CN god and a halfling that is one campaign setting away from being a Kender, my character was offered the chance to roll the artifact that was called The Dice of the Traveller (insert Monty Python intermission music here). When rolled, depending on the result, something either freaking awesome or so horrible i'd want my character to die would happen. I had the option of just walking away and not rolling them. In the truest expression of a chaotic neutral personality as has ever been witnessed, I said 'screw it, hand 'em over,' rolled the dice, and now have an Aberrant Dragonmark, which I plan on upgrading using the feats in the Dragonmark book, pending dm approval. Anyways, my issue. Our patron is Lady Mellenthia d'Cannith (sp on mellenthia?), leader of house Cannith out in Aundair. I have an abberant dragonmark on my chest. There would be much in the way of issues, i think, if someone were to discover my aberrant dragonmark. I need a way to prevent discovery of my dragonmark through magical means, i.e. spells, etc. Something preferably permanent that will prevent it from being detected 24/7, or at least as close to 24/7 as possible. |

| Ohtar Turinson08-31-07, 10:58 PM | They aren't exactly looking for them. Just keep your mark covered up by mundane means- that way detect magic won't show you have something to hide. Marks don't show up as magical anymore then warforged do so, unless there's a spell like "Detect Dragonmarks," you're all set. If that spell does exist and is used around you for some reason, you might have problems, but I think that actively trying to hide it with magic would cause more then it solves. So- wear a shirt, and use make up if you have to to cover up the edges. |
| Vinny_the_Elf09-01-07, 07:42 AM | yeah in addition to the above advice how about you get a normal tattoo over it and have it made into a mess and if anyone asks if they see it by accident, just bluff them and say you paid cheap for a bad tatt... |
| CannibalSmith09-03-07, 02:13 PM | Hat of Disguise. Or just don't walk around bare-chested. |
| The Wilgar09-03-07, 10:19 PM | Page 145 of Dragonmarked, the Ward of Khyber feat. Might be what you are looking for. |
| LoneStranger09-04-07, 01:14 AM | The better bluff would be to say you remember drinking one night, next morning there was that tattoo. And you remember nothing else of that night. If you're known as an adventurer that should be pretty simple for most people to accept. |
| TiwazTyrsfist09-04-07, 11:38 AM | In the Dragonmark book, there's a spell called something like "Disguise Dragonmark" that allows someone with an Abberant dragonmark to make his mark look like and detect to magic detection like a true dragonmark appropriate to his race. Have a ring made... |
