DM needs adventure aid [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-05-04, 11:49 AM I am in need of some help spliceing 2 adventure together please, the situation is i have 6 10th level characters going through a beefed up version of the forge of fury adventure. The goal of the PCs is to find out whats been going on in the mines of Durimek in the Mror Holds, to which they have found has been near whipped out by evil derro like dwarf creatures and abberations, and later will dicover a rakshasa or 3 - followers of the dragon below who have corrupted said dwarves with magical aid. Anyway i was wondering how i might leed this into the whispers of the vampire blade adventure or the city of Sharn in general. i was thinking maybe the rakshasa could escape through a portal closely followed (hopefully) by the pcs, but what then one pc is a member of the dark lanterns which may help.

any help or advice would be good :help:

12-05-04, 10:17 PM What are the rakshasa and their followers doing now? Why are they there, and what are their goals? I don't have the vampire blade adventure, but what I know of it includes a number of groups being after it. Since your players are so high level, maybe adding the Lords of Dust to the list of people hunting it would be a good idea.

12-06-04, 12:17 PM Well curently the rakshasa are uncovering an artifact sealed within the dwarven mine long ago, using a ritual that was long lost and now can only be botched by some artificers (of the lords of dust) involving an eldrich machine constructed on site.

Im thinking that the Blade from WotVB could maybe contain the soul of a rakshasa witch is a vital key to the artifacts completion. :plotting: :evillaugh

That's not a bad idea. Like I said, I don't have the WotVB yet, so I'm not sure what the real deal is with the blade other than being sought after. But even if that were entirely untrue, that doesn't mean the NPCs know it. An NPC artificer can roll a 1 just as easily as a PC can, and it would be interesting if they were seeking the Vampire's Blade to finish their machine when what they really need is a vampiric blade.
